Aliso Viejo, California is a bustling city in Orange County that's home to lush green spaces and breathtaking ocean views. The city's motto is "Live, Work, Learn, Shop and Play", and you'll find plenty of op-paw-tunities to do just that here, all with your darling dog by your side!

Looking for an adventure? Head on over to Canyon View Park. Here, you can walk the trails that overlook the area and provide you with sweeping views of the city -- be sure to bring a camera to capture it. You will need to bring your own water and waste bags as well, and your pup needs to stay on his leash here, but neither of you will mind once you see the view!

If you would like to be a little closer to the water, go on over to Crystal Cove. The dog-friendly trails line the beach, so you can hunt for seashells and feel the sand between your toes while walking. There is a marked dog-friendly area for your dog to play, but you still have to keep him on his leash while you enjoy it. The waves are mesmerizing to watch from the elevated picnic areas, so pack some snacks and head on out for a furrific day at the beach!

Acorn Park sits below sea level in a naturally shaded area. The large trees will make you feel like you are in your own private space. The park is also home to a large playground with walking trails surrounding it. The trails are the pawfect place to enjoy a stroll with a leashed pup. You will want to carry water with you. There is a porta-potty type restroom that just isn't all that welcoming, so be mindful of that. Overall, this is a quiet park that is nestled in a remote part of town, which makes it a great escape for the family, especially if your dog gets nervous around cars or traffic.

Oak Park, located in the Oakgrove area, is a great place to bring your dog. This is a community park, so your pal will have to stay on a leash, but the area is quiet and located away from traffic, making it a wonderful place to walk a timid dog. There are two playground areas and a small walkway in between. The entire park is circled by a mile-long loop trail. Water and waste baggies aren't provided here, so please don't forget to bring some if you plan to visit. Dogs aren't allowed on the playground, but they are allowed on the walkway and lawn areas.

Creekside Park is a nice place for you and your dog to get some real exercise. This is a decent sized park that features a walkway which connects it to the next park over, about 3 to 4 blocks away. You are required to keep your dog on his leash while you explore the trail, but he won't mind when he sees how much fun it is. The walkway makes a loop between the parks so that you can walk the entire trail and end up back at your car. There is no running water or restrooms at this park, so please be sure to bring water with you.

The Rails-to-Trails Conservancy has set up a nice walking trail right here in Aliso Viejo. This is an 18-mile trail where you walk the gravel and paved areas which used to be a rail line. The views are amazing! You will love the fact that there are parks and rest areas along the way. Water fountains are placed at regular intervals. All you need to bring is a leash, some doggie bags, and lots of energy! Watch for bikes on the trail. There are parts of the trail which are sandy, but it's usually only for a few feet.

Bagels and Brews allow you to bring your dog with you for a quick bite to eat. The fare is mostly lunch items, sandwiches, and burgers, but you can get breakfast as well. The coffee is said to be the best to be found in California. Everything is made fresh, even the bagels, which will have your mouth watering from the moment you open the door. Grab something to-go, or take your time and enjoy lunch here.  All the outdoor seating is pet-friendly, as long as your pet is friendly! Come out and get something delicious for you and your pup.
