Covered picnic tables are perfect for an afternoon snack, and the park also offers clean restrooms and a fountain where you can refill water bottles. The Taos Canyon neighborhood features the Devisadero Loop Trail 108 where you and your pup can enjoy amazing views. Devisadero means “lookout” point, and here you can peer over the Taos Canyon and admire the beautiful wildflowers and plants below. From this spot, you will see the town of Taos, the Rio Grande River, and the San Antonio Mountains. The trail has some rugged portions, so be prepared and wear your hiking shoes. Fido will love sniffing the plants along the way, but make sure to keep him on a leash.
The Manby Hot Springs Trail is located about 10 miles northwest of El Prado, and offers an interesting hike to a beautiful hot spring. You can walk with your pup along the trail, but be prepared for some rugged terrain – you will need good hiking boots. You can make it to the springs in about 25 minutes, and Fido can sniff all the plants along the way. You and your pooch can relax near the springs and enjoy some peace and quiet, and a cold bottle of water.
