Mars is a borough located in Butler County. With a total area of less than a mile, this pawsome community is on the smaller side, but is definitely full of character. Residents are often referred to as Martians, and a flying saucer sits in the center of town to remind everyone that this place is out of this world!

When dinner time rolls around, pack up your pooch and head over to Double Wide Grill. Your pup will be welcomed with open arms. Not only can you order scrumptious dishes like Sweet Peach Salmon or a BBQ Brisket Platter, your canine companion can sit by your side on the dog friendly patio. She’ll even get a bowl of water all to herself.

If your four legged traveling companion is a petite pooch, make a reservation at the Super 8 Cranberry Pittsburgh. For an additional fee, dogs weighing up to 15 pounds can rest here for the night. Your pal can drift away to dreamland in one of the cozy rooms. DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh Cranberry is a furrific option for larger pups. This hotel also has a pet fee, but its convenient location can’t be beat.

Cheery hospitality, three veterinary clinics, and a couple puptastic parks make Mars a doggone great place to be a pooch!

When local dogs want to run free, they head over to Rotary Dog Park. Located inside the Cranberry Township Park, this off leash area is in Cranberry Township and only 20 minutes from Mars. Since this is a pup-ular park, your pal will mix and mingle with all sorts of new four legged friends. The four acre park is split between large and small dogs, so petite pooches can enjoy the park at their own pace. Un-fur-tunately, dogs are not allowed in the park’s main area. Once your pup is all tuckered out, she can go back to the car and head home for a well deserved nap.

Is your pooch bursting with energy? Then it’s time for a trip to the Misty Pines Dog Park. Located in Sewickley, this privately owned off leash area is part of the Misty Pines Pet Company. Just pay a small admission fee, and your pup has access to hours of fun. If she is a water lover, she can splash and swim in the park’s very own doggy pond. There’s even a deck for jumping! A pawsome canine playground with agility equipment will put her athletic skills to the test, and the large grassy areas are perfect for socializing or romping around with new friends.
