Dog Areas in Monitor

Monitor is a very small unincorporated community in Marion County, Oregon. Although this small northwestern community doesn’t have many dog-friendly amenities, there are thankfully seven vet clinics within fifteen miles of the area.

Just eight miles west of Monitor is Centennial Park in Woodburn, OR. The whole park includes twenty-five acres of sports complex, a picnic shelter, and a playground, but Centennial also has a dedicated 2.5-acre dog park complete with water, shade, and waste stations. After a long day at Centennial, head on over to the Woburn Starbucks just a few minutes away. There are six pup-friendly tables in the outdoor seating area. Don’t forget to ask for a puppuccino!

The Champoeg State Heritage Off Leash Area can be found thirty minutes northeast of Monitor. This area is open to off-leash play, but note that it’s fenceless. There is a $5 fee for parking, but if you and Fido are local, you can purchase an annual parking pass that’s valid at all Oregon State Parks. On your way back to Monitor, swing by Katie’s Korner Homemade Ice Cream to enjoy delicious ice cream flavors like vanilla fudge ripple and praline pecan. Pooches are welcome at the outdoor table and benches!
