Pointe Tapatio
There are no better spots for hiking with your dog than in the mountains that surround Phoenix. You and your pooch can check out Shaw Butte to trek the many trails and catch all of the ter-ruff-ic views. The paths are kept very clean and the park welcomes all on-leash, four-legged guests. North Mountain is also in the Pointe Tapatio area and offers adventures for hikers of all ability. You and your canine compadre can stroll on paved walkways or climb up steep, rocky trails to the summit, depending on what you're into. Be sure to bring water for the both of you, as Phoenix can get super hot during summer months. Either of these locations make for an outing like no other, and we're sure your dog will thank you.36

Paradise Valley
Get outside and spend the day with your doggo in Paradise Valley! The Paradise Valley Dog Park is the perfect place for Fido to burn some energy off-leash. These grounds have 2.4 acres of grass, trees, and water fountains. There are separate enclosures for big and small dogs so that the play stays safe. Owners are spoiled at this dog park too, as it has multiple benches, tables and two ramadas! If you'd like to score some good eats, you and your pooch can head over to the RoadRunner Park Farmers Market that runs every Saturday. This market brings all of the local goodness together in one spot. You can pick up fresh produce and organically raised meat so both you and your pup can feast like kings. As long as your dog stays on leash, the two of you are welcome to explore all of the interesting items that show up at this market.24

Alkire
There are lots of adventures to be had with your dog in Alkire, Phoenix. Check out Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area, a chunk of wilderness preserved in the city. This park has many asphalt trails that leashed pups are invited to explore with their humans. You and your furry friend can see rivers, ponds, and even some wildlife while walking through Rio Salado. The flat paths also make these trails excellent for runs with your favorite pooch. As with all parks in Phoenix, if temps get hotter than 100°, all doggos are asked to stay cool at home for their own safety.12

Downtown
The heart of the city has fun things to do for both dogs and their humans. For some off-leash play, head over to Hance Dog Park, where pups romp around protected by a fancy wrought iron fence. There are areas for both large and small dogs to keep all pooches safe. This park also features big trees, benches and a chilled water fountain with bowls so you can hydrate your pup during all of the fun. Dogs on-leash are welcome to explore Arizona Center, a collection of shops and restaurants all within walking distance of each other. Some of these businesses allow canine guests, just be sure to ask the staff before entering. In the middle of the center there are pathways through gardens heading to a fountain, the perfect place for an afternoon walk with your favorite fur buddy!
