Although it’s known for its abundance of blooming pink and magenta colored redbud trees every spring, the town of Pink’s name origins are somewhat of a mystery.  Unique name aside, this small, rural community is a pawsome place for pups and their people! Residents of this community enjoy quiet streets and an easy going lifestyle, with all the modern amenities a person or pooch could need just 10 miles away in Tecumseh, and 16 miles away in Shawnee. The nearest veterinary clinics are located in nearby Norman and Tecumseh.

A puptacular place to spend time with your furry friend is Lake Thunderbird State Park. Located on the easternmost outskirts of Norman, this lake is only a 6-mile drive west of Pink! With more than 7,000 acres of land, 6,000 acres of water and 86 miles of shoreline, there’s plenty of room to romp and roam with your leashed dog at this recreation area! Pawpular activities at the Little Axe access area, which is closest to Pink on the east side of the lake, include fishing, camping, boating and picnicking. This sparsely populated area on the outskirts of town is where you’ll find the Tecumseh Lake Park and Pavilion. Situated on the east shores of the lake, this quiet natural area is a great place to walk your leashed dog.
