Wheeler Memorial Dog Park, located in Columbus’ Harrison West neighborhood, is a clean, well-maintained park that has plenty of space for your pup to play and make new fur-iends! Here, you’ll find plenty of seating where you can relax and watch your pup play in the fenced area. In the summer months, water is provided, but it’s wise to bring some extra just in case. Since the dog park is pretty large, it’s suitable for social dogs or those who prefer to play on their own. Your pooch won’t want to leave this pawesome park!

Hankering for a hike with your hound? Hop in the car and head 36 miles from Plumwood to Westerville, where you’ll find the Genoa Trail. This trail used to be an old rail line that’s now a walking trail, thanks to the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. This 4-mile trail is well-shaded, making it pawfect to hike in summer. Be careful, though -- the trail surface is asphalt, which may get too hot for your pooch’s paws in hot weather. Don’t fur-get water and waste bags!
