To some, it may seem like a strange or difficult to say name for a city, but Puyallup, Washington was named after the Puyallup Indian Tribe, and it actually means “the generous people.” There are an estimated 39,105 people living there with an approximate 8,700 dogs as pets, so bring Fido when you visit since there is plenty of dog-friendly fun.

Clarks Creek Park South on 12th Avenue has a gorgeous little off-leash dog park with several amenities like benches, water, and plenty of space to run. The park itself is 55 acres and also has some great amenities such as barbeque/picnic areas, shelters, playgrounds, restrooms, a creek, and some excellent trails to explore.

Wildwood Park on 23rd Avenue is another beautiful park to take Fido and the rest of the family too. It is 80 acres of fun with ball fields, playgrounds, barbeque/picnic area, shelters, restrooms, amazing trails, a stream with several bridges, and even a waterfall for Fido to play in.

Bradley Lake Park on 31st Avenue SE is also pretty amazing, and the lake is so pretty you will have to take some pictures. There are playgrounds and a sweet walking trail that takes you around the lake and into the woods. You will see lots of wildlife here, such as geese, foxes, deer, raccoons, and even some skunks so watch out! The fishing is good too, so the lake must be stocked pretty well.
