If you and your hound need a place to stay during your visit to Secaucus, you'll be happy to know there are a few Fido-friendly hotels here! Red Roof Plus rolls out the red carpet for up to two dogs of any size for free. Extended Stay America Secaucus Meadowlands has pet-friendly rooms for no more than two dogs up to twenty-five pounds for a fee of $25 per dog per night. Holiday Inn Secaucus Meadowlands will check in up to two dogs under 75 pounds for an additional fee of $75 (more for extended stays). The hotel asks to call in advance to be sure a pet-friendly room is available.

The largest park, Laurel Hills, is situated on the Hackensack River, and is a favorite spot for boat and kayak launching. The park features beautiful nature trails through wildflowers and native shrubbery. Two pedestrian bridges over small creeks add to the restful scenic beauty. The park features exercise equipment for human companions so you can get some exercise in.  Picnic tables are found scattered throughout the park. The best thing about this park, though, is its fenced dog park for leash-free shenanigans. Waste stations make it easy to clean up after your pooch, but don't fur-get to bring water!

Hyatt Place welcomes two dogs up to 50 pounds for a fee of $75 per dog. Families with a fur baby love to head over to the Mill Creek Point Park on Millridge Road. This park has three acres of recreational land and 42 acres of preserved marshland. It is a favorite for boat launches and bird watchers. Picnic tables and pavilions which may be reserved will be found here too. A one-mile trail leads through the marsh and over bridges, and is the pawfect place for a quick walk. The fully fenced dog park will let your pup have a blast running through the obstacle course or just sniffing out a new buddy. Dogs must be on leash at all times when not inside the dog park.

Lyndhurst is located five miles west of Secaucus. Riverside County Park offers dogs a leash-free playground of their very own. This fully fenced dog park has two enclosures. A separate space keeps small dogs safe while they play. The surface of the dog park is covered with a gravel mulch which helps prevent muddy paws on those rainy days. Toys abound here, mostly left by generous visitors. Plenty of amenities are provided, so don't fret if you forget to bring a water bottle or baggies -- Riverside has you and your pup covered. Don't pass up the opportunity to take a restful leashed walk along the Passaic River.

Montclair is located thirteen miles west of Secaucus. Dogs that get to go to Brookdale Dog Park have a woof-wonderful time!  This popular dog park features two fully fenced enclosures for your pup's off-leash exercise and play. One of those two areas is set aside for the smaller pups. The ground at Brookdale is a mixture of grass, mulch, and dirt.  A few pieces of agility equipment tickle the curiosity of some dogs and are used for extra training for others. Water is available on-site, and waste stations take care of that need. Human companions will find plenty of shaded seating from which to watch their pups have fun.
