Boulan Park
Looking for a new place to walk your furry BFF? Clip on her leash and head over to Boulan Park. This is one of Troy’s largest parks and a community favorite. Two legged visitors come for the ball diamonds, tennis courts, soccer fields, and playgrounds. Four legged park patrons are more interested in the expansive fields and the paved walking path. Take a brisk walk around the 1.25 mile trail to get your pup’s blood flowing. You’ll pass a large wooded area and plenty of mature trees. If she has a lot of energy, you may need to take a couple laps. Be sure to bring plenty of water; she’ll be thirsty after such a pupperific walk!

Somerset Pines/ Forest Creek
Is your pooch begging for a walk? Clip on his leash and take him over to Firefighters Park for an afternoon stroll. Spanning over 90 acres, this park is the perfect place for a little doggy cardio. Wander around the green open fields and let your pup feel some grass beneath his paws. You can walk through the wooded area and past the Rogue River that runs through the northern end of the park. This park also features a pond for fishing, ball fields, playgrounds, and volleyball courts. Be sure to bring a sandwich and a treat for your pooch, and find a relaxing spot under one of the shade trees to enjoy the afternoon.

Raintree Village
Next time your pup needs an afternoon out, grab her leash and head over to Raintree Park. This is one of Troy’s five major parks, so you know it is worth a visit. Your four legged friend will love exploring the 41 acres of green space. Since half this park is wooded, you and your canine companion can also get your fill of nature. Let your pooch find her new favorite stick as your wander through the trees. In addition to a paved walking path, this park has an 18-hole disc golf course, ball diamond, playgrounds and a volleyball court. Sounds pupperific!

Downtown Troy
The Daisy Knight Dog Park is where all the cool canines in Troy hang out. Take your pup over to this park for some carefree off leash time. He can dash around or romp and play with new four legged friends. Bring a ball for a game of fetch or just let your pooch sniff around solo. Pet parents can hang out at the picnic shelter or take a spin around the walking path. This park requires an annual membership, so stop by the Troy Community Center and fill out the registration form. You don't want your furry pal to miss out on all the fun!

If you and your pup are looking for a place to bunk while in Troy, take comfort knowing you have several pet friendly hotels to choose from. If your pup is on the small side, consider TownePlace Suites by Marriott Detroit Troy. Dogs up to 30 pounds can stay here for an additional fee. Quality Inn Troy welcomes midsized mutts. For a nominal fee, pets less than 50 pounds can catch some shut eye in one of the cozy rooms. If your traveling companion is on the larger end, check out Red Roof Inn Detroit.
