Toney is a sprawling community with residential developments among farms and forestland. This area offers peaceful country roads that are pawfect for taking a stroll with your pooch. You'll also find a recreational facility in the northeast part of town. Take Fido to Blue Water Springs Park on Opp Reynolds Road. The 40-acre property includes a rectangular fishing pond with benches, ball fields, and a natural-surface pathway through wooded sections. Explore the area with your four-footed friend or try your hand at fishing here. Keep a lead on your pup when you visit. Have bags with you to remove any messes.

Harvest

Just three miles southwest of Toney, the community of Harvest includes residential developments, farms, an elementary school, and some churches. The neighborhood roads provide a good place to take a walk with your special pal. On the eastern side of this town, there's a furrific natural facility for you and Spot to explore. Visit Harvest Square Recreational Preserve on Allyson Sadie Boulevard with your canine pal. Hike the two-mile nature trail that leads through fields and around ponds on this 69-acre property. Finish with a picnic at one of the tables by the trailhead. Leashed dogs can join you here.

Emerald Ridge

The neighborhood of Emerald Ridge in Greater Huntsville is about 16 miles southeast of Toney. This development has private residences on wooded lots and a cemetery. There's a pawtastic place for you and your fur-baby to explore just west of here. Check out Wade Mountain Nature Preserve when you want to take a hike with your pup. This 843-acre woodland area has nearly 11.5 miles of trails. Climb the mountain, explore some caves, or view the waterfall on the property with Fido. Keep your pet secure on a cord or leash for your trek. Bring water and bags to scoop any droppings.

Northeast Madison

About 12 miles south of Toney, the Northeast Madison neighborhood includes residential streets, churches, and public schools. This community has a furrific outdoor facility that you can visit with your furry friend. Rainbow Mountain Nature Preserve has seven hiking trails of varying length that wander through the grounds. Take one or more paths through the forested land to get exercise with your pooch. There's a picnic area by the parking lot off Stoneway Trail. Pack refreshments and a snack to enjoy after you stretch your legs. Keep your fur-baby secure with a lead and carry bags to remove any messes.

Potters Mill

Potters Mill in western Huntsville is about 12 miles south of Toney. In this neighborhood, you'll find a residential development with sidewalk-lined streets where you can exercise with Spot. Another puptacular place to let your pooch have fun is The Dog Spot at Creekwood Park. This off-leash facility is behind the playground off Harvestwood Court. Walk your leashed pup on the pathway that loops around the children's play area to reach the entry gate for the dog park. There are sections for large and small pooches here. Each side includes benches and shelters for the owners. Have some bags to collect any droppings.
