Altus is a historically significant city in Franklin County, Arkansas. It is part of the Arkansas River Valley and lies right at the edge of the Ozark Mountain. The city has plenty of historical value to bark about, as it is the home of St. Mary's Catholic Church, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1902 and is a great place to see spectacular paintings and intricate architecture.
