W Shawntel Smith Blvd
Muldrow Park in this neighborhood is a great place to spend time with the family and your pup. There is a wonderful paved walking trail where pups can sniff the plants and trees and stretch their legs. If you are out with the kids, they will love the playground and you can invite friends for a picnic with their furry family members. Bring some burgers and hot dogs and take advantage of the convenient BBQ grills. You can even refill water bottles near the restrooms, just be sure to bring some doggie waste bags and clean up after your pup.

Roland
Visitors from around the area enjoy traveling to Roland to try their luck at the Cherokee Casino. If you are planning to bring your pampered pup for good luck, the Interstate Inn on West Ray Fine Boulevard is pooch-friendly. You can make a reservation in advance and enjoy the convenience and the open spaces to walk your pup. If you are driving through the area, the Pilot Travel Center is also located on Ray Fine Blvd. This quick stop offers a designated dog walking area, waste bags and dog supplies. Roland also features a City Park with a 1/3-mile paved walking trail. You and Fido can stretch your legs and get some exercise while the kids run around on the playground to get rid of excess energy. Bring your picnic baskets and treats for your pooch and enjoy lunch at the picnic tables – just be sure to clean up after Fido.

Moffett
The Moffett Public Use Area is located off Old US Highway 64 and features acres of space where you can hike with your pooch or go fishing in the Arkansas River. There are some pathways through the trees to get to the water, and you and Fido can spend some time watching the wildlife or admiring the large variety of plants. As a primitive area, there are no restrooms available, and you will need to bring some doggie waste bags to clean up after your pup. You will also want to bring your own water bottles if you are planning to spend the day exploring the area with your pawsome friend.

About 10 miles east of Muldrow, and right across the border, families and their furry friends will love the Fort Smith National Historic Site in the town of Fort Smith. There is a huge area with landscaped grounds where you and Fido can stroll and admire the historic sights. The site offers visitors a lot of history, including the story of “the Hanging Judge,” and information about the Trail of Tears. Plan to walk along the river’s edge with your pup, just be sure to clean up with some doggie waste bags. You will love the tranquility of this peaceful area, and Fido will enjoy getting his feet wet along the water’s edge. If you are staying in town, the Courtyard welcomes pups for an additional fee and there is a great area to walk your pooch and get some exercise.

Fishback
In the neighborhood of Fishback in Fort Smith, Creekmore Park is a fun destination for pups and families. You can walk Fido around the walking path and admire the gardens while your pooch sniffs the plants and trees. Kids will have fun with the miniature golf course, and there is even a gas engine train that travels around the park. While the kids are on the playground, relax on one of the shaded benches with your pooch and enjoy a cold bottle of water. On your way home from the park, stop by the Sweet Bay Coffee Co and enjoy a drink with your pup at the outdoor dog-friendly tables.
