This park is rightfully named, because it lies adjacent to the scenic Santa Ynez River, with a backdrop of agricultural fields. This large, 45 acre park is great for family gatherings because of its many barbeque pits and picnic areas. Your pupper is sure to love the walking trail and the open grassy areas in this park, just perfect for some fresh air and exercise. Kiwanis Lake, a small man-made fishing pond within the park attracts a variety of wildlife. If you want to stay here for a while, you can make use of the River Park RV campground.

Summerwood/Windscape
If you're in the Summerwood/Windscape neighborhood of Lompoc, you’re in for a treat! This neighborhood is proud home to the Barkin Park. The Barkin Park dog park allows dogs to have a safe place to burn some energy and enjoy a little pawsitive socialization. The park features many different athletic fields, picnic areas, and playgrounds. You and your doggo might especially love the fitness trail that winds through an urban forest in the park. The neighborhood of Westvale, in the southwest corner of Lompoc, has its own little namesake park to enjoy. Westvale Park is a peaceful 2.4 acre park featuring benches and a playground. There are also open grassy areas your pup will love to sniff and play on, and mature shade trees to relax under. To continue the adventure, take a hike up to Lookout Point along the Bodger Rd Trail. This trail can be accessed from S Z St. It’s quite a workout to get to the top, so don’t forget drinking water for you and your parched pup! The view is worth it though, because once you arrive at the top, you can enjoy sweeping panoramas of Lompoc and the surrounding foothills. Leashed dogs are welcome to join their two legged friends!
