Just west of the University of California Santa Barbara campus lies the neighborhood of Marketplace in Goleta. This bustling, commercial district is home to the Camino Real Market Place, a busy and vibrant outdoor shopping center. Winchester Commons is a quiet and peaceful residential community in Goleta, just south of Winchester Canyon. Residents love how this small neighborhood has unobstructed views of the Santa Ynez Mountains, as well as all the open space, parks, and walking paths in the area. Among these open spaces is what's called the Patterson Open Space. This ample, natural space is open to on-leash dogs and their owners anytime, but there are also certain hours when dogs are allowed off their leashes, and Fido can explore to his heart's content while you take in the surrounding greenery and bask in the California sunshine.

Positioned on the west side of the University of California Santa Barbara campus, Storke Ranch is a quiet, residential neighborhood mainly populated with families. This well-maintained community is admired for its lush greenery and impressive landscaping. Girsh Park is an active recreational space in the area, and it is a favorite spot for dog owners thanks to the dog programs it offers. There are often festivals, dog shows, agility and obedience showcases, and off-leash activities that will keep your dog happy and in good shape. This multi-purpose park has things to do for the whole family, from ice-skating in the winter, a baseball diamond, basketball courts, and soccer fields.

El Encanto Heights

El Encanto Heights is a popular residential area in Goleta. Many of the homes in this area are unique and colorful, and residents showcase their style through creative landscaping and design. This community is popular with dog owners, and luckily there is a great dog park nearby for residents to enjoy with their dogs. Tabano Hollow is 1.19 acres of open green space, and it includes a fenced area for off-leash dogs as well as benches for owners to rest on and water to keep Rover hydrated while he plays. Those who frequent the Tabano Hollow dog park remark that it is frequented by many friendly regulars who enjoy interacting with other dog owners and their dogs.
