Ojai is a small city in Ventura County, located in the Ojai Valley. While mostly known for being a tourist city with an abundance of boutique hotels and spiritual retreats, Ojai is also a great destination for your dog who can enjoy its recreational activities and hiking trails.  Ojai also offers six veterinarians to ensure your dog has all his health needs covered.

Stop in and grab some food at one of Ojai's pet friendly restaurants with your pup. Nocciola specializes in upscale Italian cuisine, and offers an outdoor patio that welcomes your dog to join you. After filling your bellies, work off some of the food by checking out the numerous hiking trails that surround Ojai. The Rose Valley Falls trail is an easy trail the two of you would love to explore together and enjoy a day out adventuring.

Since Ojai is a tourist destination, you won’t have to worry about finding a hotel that allows your pet to stay with you. Be sure to check out hotels like Oakridge Inn, Casa Ojai Inn, or The Capri which all welcomes your dog with open arms.

The trail starts out by crossing the Sespe Creek, then continues through the forest to give you a beautiful scenic view. While hiking, the two of you may even see one of California’s endangered condors as they are known to live in this forest. Be sure to check your dog when walking the trail since it is known for having overgrown thorny plants throughout the hike. If you want to continue your hike, this trail connects to the Rose Valley Falls Trail. Don't forget to bring plenty of water for your dog to drink and some clean-up bags.
