California is one of the states where there is a relatively high percentage of cat owners. That, however, does not mean that there are no dogs in Moorpark, California. Ventura County consists of a wide variety of landscapes ranging from mountains, rolling hills, wide open meadows to sandy beaches. A perfect place to go outside and enjoy the weather with pets.
The fact that Moorpark, California, has its own off-leash dog park, is a clue that the people of this city love dogs. This dog park is part of the College View Park and fully enclosed. For safety reasons dogs have to be vaccinated and licensed. The dog section of the regional park is not open for small children.
An alternative to the dog park in Moorpark is the Conejo Creek Dog Park, located in the nearby Thousand Oaks, California. The playground is divided into a section for small dogs and a section for large dogs. There are benches, water fountains, grassy areas with trees for shelter, toys and much more.
Dog owners can also set out into nature by following the Rosewood Trail. This 4-mile hiking trail features the Angel Vista viewpoint which offers an amazing view over the Santa Monica Mountains. Dogs are allowed on a leash.
Moorpark Dog Park is located right in the heart of the neighborhood. Not only are there two fenced-in areas for your canine companion to play safely in, but there is also playground equipment nearby that lets your mini humans run and play, too. Just 30 miles from Moorpark is Malibu, where you’ll find Solstice Canyon. There are a few trails that you and your human can choose from. This trail leads to some older ruins after about a mile that are fascinating and full of history. Once you get past the ruins there is a waterfall. Water fountains are found throughout so that your furry friend always has clean water while playing. Take a minute to pawse in the shade structures set up within the fenced areas.
