Camarillo is the second closest city to Newbury Park after Thousand Oaks, offering plenty of recreation options and outdoor activities for your fur baby. On your way to the city from Newbury Park, follow along Camarillo Springs Road East to find a secluded and remote place to play with your pup. Camarillo Grove Park has a well-maintained, fully shaded, and convenient area for mutts to play off-leash! This nice dog park features plenty of space for pooches to burn some energy, and the good company of friendly, local tail-waggers will make the experience much more pleasant! Mission Oaks Boulevard Northeast
Mission Oaks Boulevard will lead you through quiet residential quarters, past small shops and businesses, and finally to Mission Oaks Park and Heritage Park. These parks are set across the street from each other, so you'll have plenty to explore in this neck of the woods. Leashed, well-behaved mutts are welcome to explore the 20+ acre Mission Oaks Park. Enjoy a walk with your pooch on the trails, or share a picnic in the grass. Don't feel like packing your own picnic? Stop by Jersey Mike’s Subs before heading to the park and pick up a couple subs to go. Or, enjoy your lunch with your leashed pup at the outdoor tables.

Via Zamora West
Set in the western, quiet part of Camarillo, Via Zamora Street connects La Marina Drive and Camino Tierra Santa and will lead you to Springville Park. This is a public park that welcomes your leashed pooch to join you for a morning jog or a relaxing stroll along the walking trails. You'll also find a roomy dog park here, which is fully shaded, fenced, and separated into two areas for large and small or timid mutts. The rules are simple: have as much off-leash fun as you can handle! Drinking water isn't available at this park, so be sure to bring some with you.

Downtown Camarillo is a dog-friendly spot featuring convenient, modern eateries for furry foodies and their two-legged friends! Follow along Ventura Highway until you reach 805 Pour House, where you can try a variety of craft beers and tapas at outdoor tables Or, grab a quick, juicy burger from The Habit Burger Grill's drive-thru. The real gem of downtown Camarillo, though, is its dog-friendly shopping opportunities. Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop is a great place to stop by with Fido and try some local sweets! For those of you who are more health conscious, check out Healthy Pet, where you will find a selection of healthy food and treats for your pooch (and maybe new a toy or two)!

Oak Canyon Community Park
Set in the northern part of Oak Park, Oak Canyon Community Park is an extensive and fairly remote place with plenty of walking trails and all the amenities you'd expect from a great public park. But Fido doesn't need to fret just yet -- there's a space here for him to play, too! Follow the signs posted in the main community park to find the on-site dog park. The dog park boasts two separate areas for small and large pups, plenty of shade, grass and drinking water facilities for canines. You'll need to bring water for yourself, as well as your own waste bags. No one likes a litterbug!
