Westchester-West
If your pooch is in the mood for a nice afternoon stroll, head over to Westchester-West and wander down the Bluff Trail. Although it is on the shorter side, this delightful little trail gives your pup an excuse to be outside soaking in some sunshine. The path is paved and has two drinking fountains. The Ballona Freshwater Marsh is also nearby. A well maintained trail guides you through a marshland and along Ballona Creek. The peaceful atmosphere will give your pup a chance to reflect on his good life. This trail is about a mile, so if you have an active pooch, you may need to take a couple laps.36

Loyola Village
Oberrieder Dog Park is located in the Loyola Village neighborhood of nearby Playa Vista. Just a quick two mile trip from Playa de Rey, this dog park is waiting for your four legged pal. She can check her leash at the gate and cruise around carefree. There is plenty of space for romping and wrestling, as well as a good old fashioned game of fetch. If your little pup doesn’t like to run with the big dogs, just head over to the small dog section. Drinking fountains and benches are provided. This park is also only 10 minutes from LAX, so if your pooch is just getting off a long flight, bring her by for some exercise. If your pup is a bit less social, try Fountain Park. This on-leash park has a beautiful water fountain in the middle of the park.

El Segundo North
When dogs living in Playa de Rey want to run free, they head four miles south to the El Segundo Dog Park. Located in El Segundo, this long, narrow park is perfect for a game of fetch. Your furry friend can meet and greet other pups as she checks out the area, or she can just sniff around on her own. Either way, she’ll have a doggone blast! A separate area is provided for petite pooches. There are also shade trees and water fountains to keep the pups cool. Since it is an all dirt terrain, your pooch will get pretty dusty. So if you like keeping your car squeaky clean, be sure to bring a towel.12

Blair Hills
Culver City’s Boneyard Dog Park is the local canine hot spot. Only seven miles northeast of Playa del Rey, this off leash dog area is located in the Blair Hills neighborhood. Don’t let your pup miss out on the fun, take him over so he can mix and mingle with his peers. He can romp and wrestle with a new friend, or run free during a game of chase. There is a separate area for small dogs, so everyone can enjoy the park at their own pace. If you’re not out throwing the ball for Fido, relax on one of the benches. Shade, weather structures and water fountains are also available.
