Franklin Canyon Lake
Franklin Canyon Lake Park is a spacious 605-acre preservation located near the center of Los Angeles. The park is home to a beautiful man-made reservoir and a duck pond, aptly named Heavenly Pond. Five miles of trails with difficulties ranging from easy to strenuous ensure your pupper gets a proper workout no matter their activity level. The 2.5-mile Chaparral Trail winds around the lake and duck pond, then climbs to an elevation of 325 feet, giving way to breathtaking views of the city and Pacific Ocean. After your hike, treat Fido to a scenic picnic at the parks’ picnic grounds — he will never forget it!

Belmont Shores
Is your pup in need of some retail therapy? Look no further than Belmont Shores! This Long Beach neighborhood is home to a pet-friendly open-air shopping plaza and several Fido-approved restaurants. There are two pet boutiques within the strip, as well as plenty of shops for their humans to explore. Many of the stores even keep bowls of fresh water on the doorstep for thirsty puppers! If your pup is short on funds, don’t worry! Livingston Dog Park and Rosie’s Dog Beach are located close by for a fun (and cheap!) playdate.

Central Los Angeles
Runyon Canyon Park is the pawfect place to kick up some dust with your pup. Nestled near the Hollywood Hills, the main park encompasses 160 acres and features trails and a playground for the whole family to enjoy. There is a 90-acre bark park within Runyon Canyon that provides an ideal spot for some off-leash time. Waste bag stations are located throughout the park for guests' convenience. It is important to remember that there are no restrooms or water stations along the trails. Make sure you bring plenty of water if you plan to hike!

East Santa Monica
There are all sorts of things to see and sniff in West-Ridge Canyonback Wilderness Park, located in the East Santa Monica Mountains. There is no better place around to enjoy downtown, oceanic, and mountain views! The park is spread out over 1,500 acres, but is part of the larger 20,000-acre urban wilderness park known as the “Big Wild”. This park is home to miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails and is sure to please any two- or four-legged guest! Many of the trails are paved and are wheelchair and stroller accessible. Forgot your doggie bags? No worries! Mutt-mitts are provided on several of the most popular trails!

Sepulveda Basin
The Sepulveda Basin Dog Park in the San Fernando Valley is, without a doubt, one of the best bark parks in the LA area. This airy off-leash park provides plenty of room for your pal to meet and greet other local pooches. There are separate areas for large and small breeds, as well as a special enclosure for the timid guests. The new agility course is truly the favorite spot here and is complete with obstacles for your mutt to show off his moves! A water station is available for the furry guests, but human patrons will need to bring their own. The park is open from sunrise to sunset everyday (except Friday morning), so there are plenty of paw-portunities to play!
