Old Poway
The 10-acre Aubrey Park has softball fields and plenty of grass where your pup is sure to enjoy a leashed walk with you. Take a stroll down the jogging trails or through the grassy areas. The pond at the entrance of the park promises a sniff-tastic adventure as you scout for small animals who often visit there. The park is a great place for picnics, and is just across the street from the train, so be aware if your dog is adverse to loud noises from time to time. The nearby Veterans Park can provide a short, leashed walk around and through the permanent tribute to the veterans of the United States Military.

Lower Heritage Hills
Enjoy a peaceful hike at the Hilleary Park with a huge open grass field perfect for lots of pawsome activities. The park is next to a creek that your pup would love to sniff! There is a shaded picnic area for a picnic after your walk, and plenty of play structures for children. Enjoy the concrete paths around the park, or just strike out on the grassy area for a pawsome leashed walk. Players Sports Bar offers sandwiches, burgers, pizza, and a variety of craft beer. Treat yourself and your pup who is welcome in the outdoor seating.

East Central
Enjoy a walk on the 3.2-mile Rattlesnake Creek Trail with your leashed pup. There are two routes, one designated easy and one designated hard that offers steeper ascents for a better workout. The dog-tastic trail takes you to a beautiful view of the city below. The trails also allow you to enjoy the gorgeous scenery along the way, which is often painted with the brilliant colors of wildflowers in the spring. Be aware that the trails do not have facilities or services, so be sure to bring your own water. Take a snack along with you, but hikers typically can walk out and back in the morning after breakfast and return before lunch.

Garden Road North
Grab your leash and your pup and get going for a walk in Garden Road Park. You will enjoy the winding walkway that leads to the very end of the park, and the large grassy area just perfect for a game of fetch. There are water fountains throughout the park, and plenty of park benches for a place to relax. If you notice at the park that your pup needs to learn some manners, Specialty Dog Training provides a range of training options for your pooch, as well as training of service and personal assistance dogs. If your pup is destined to herd, check in with The Herding Training Center where Fido can become a sheep herder.
Park View Terrace
Poway Creek Trail runs along the creek and the Poway Community Park for a dog-tastic easy walk with your pup. Fido will want to visit the 175-acre off-leash Poway Dog Park adjacent the trail. The dog park has 3-fenced-in areas. Each area has a dog lick faucet, picnic benches, and plenty of space for play. Dogs must be on leash enroute to the dog park, but can run unfettered inside its borders. After a big day outdoors, stop by for a sweet treat at Baskin-Robbins, or try a burrito bowl at Chipotle Mexican Grill. Both restaurants allow you to sit at one of the outdoor tables to enjoy your food with your pup.
