I just moved to San Diego from Connecticut, and was looking for for a good way to meet new dogs and explore the area. I’ve had 8 dogs throughout my life, from Rottweiler to Golden Retriever to Shih Tzu, and I used to volunteer at an animal shelter in Connecticut. I’ve been walking dogs for as long as I have been walking myself, and they are by far my favorite creatures!

Dog Walking in Poway

The City of Poway is less than 15 miles north San Diego, that boasts some interesting history. Artifacts found along the bed of Poway Creek all indicate an early Diegueño native American presence here. Pictographs adorn many of Poway's boulders that date to the 16th century or earlier. Poway also has a love for its resident dogs, and boasts thirteen veterinarians and clinics ready to respond any and all of their needs.

Enjoy Silverset Park's  .33 mile jogging track with your leashed pup and take in the exercise stations along the way that range from stretching to pull ups for you. The huge grass area is a pawsome spot for some fetch or Frisbee in this active park. During the Christmas season, you'll be treated to holiday decorations and Christmas ornaments hanging on trees and on bushes around the walking track. For further outdoor exploration, don't miss a chance to hike the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve which contains one of the many trails hat can be found in Poway.

Drop by Daphne's California Greek for authentic and refreshing Mediterranean-inspired dishes or dig into prime rib and a loaded baked potato at the Mainstream Bar and Grill where your pup is always welcome to join you at the outdoor tables. If you're hankering for a plate of kebabs, Kasi's is the place you're looking for, and Fido is welcome to join you at the outdoor tables.
