Mission Valley
Miramar, California is part of San Diego County. San Diego is a very dog-friendly city. Part of this is because of restaurants like Lazy Dog Café. This doggie-themed restaurant encourages you to bring your dog out for a special dinner together. They have a great menu, but the separate doggie menu is what makes them more than just fur-friendly. You can choose your dog’s favorite meal from their very own menu, and both meals will arrive at the same time! The seating is dog-friendly as long as your pawesome pal is on a leash.

Mission Bay
Mission Bay has been set aside for Fido to get off his leash and just play. Fiesta Dog Park enhances the experience of the area by giving him sand dunes to climb, run, and dig on. If Fido feels so inclined, he can go for a quick dip in the calm waters. This park boasts that it’s the only off-leash dog park in the area that allows Fido to run and play with you, even in the water. It is located on the backside of Sea World, which adds to the uniqueness of the beach. Don’t forget to bring drinking water.

Point Loma
This is where you will find The Original Dog Beach. If you are looking for a great social spot for you and your dog, this is the place to be. The entire section of the beach, located at the northern end of Ocean Beach, is set aside and safe for Fido to run and play. There are always lots of dogs and people to play with. Parking can be a little difficult to find, though. It is recommended that you park near the Dog Beach Dog Wash, about two blocks in, so that you can rinse off Fido before getting back in the car.

Cabrillo National Park
The half-mile Cabrillo Tide Pools Trail leads you to the gorgeous tide pools. This is the only dog-friendly part of Cabrillo National Park. Your dog will need to stay on a leash by your side for the duration of your visit. The trail is lined with lots of natural scenery and beautiful ocean views. You never know what you might see in the water, from birds to whales and everything in between. Bring your dog and spend an hour or so in nature. Don’t forget to bring plenty of drinking water. Sorry, but there is no swimming for the fur babies in this area.

Balboa Park
Nate’s Off Leash Dog Park is just the right place to go if Fido wants to run and play in the San Diego area. The whole area is completely fenced in so that you can be sure that your dog will not get lost. There are tons of shady sitting areas. The people here are attentive to the pups, which make the whole atmosphere feel friendlier. This park is very well taken care of and voted one of the top parks in the country. Come run, play, and meet some new friends. This is an experience like few other dog parks in the state.
