Grossmont
This family oriented residential neighborhood provides easy access to local schools and hospitals, and is conveniently close to Interstate 8 and Highway 125. It’s just 4 miles from Spring Valley. Canine Corners Dog Park at Harry Griffen Park opens their gates to pups of all ages and sizes to play and mingle in this off-leash, fenced dog park! Howlistic is a local natural pet food store that provides natural and holistic food and treatments for a variety of animals. They also have a spa area where you can give your pooch a nice scrub, leaving them looking and feeling their best. If you’re looking for something besides pet food, you and Fido can visit Anthony’s Fish Grotto. They are a fun, dog-friendly restaurant in the area.

La Mesa
A short 8-minute drive north from Spring Valley, the community of La Mesa has a lot to offer both families and dog owners. Mission Trails Regional Park is comprised of 7,220 acres of natural and man-made recreational spaces, including 60 miles’ worth of hiking trails that can be utilized by both humans and on-leash dogs! Lake Murray Café is located right along Mission Trails Regional Park and accommodates dogs if you and Fido decide you want to grab a bite to eat after hiking all day. Sweetwater Summit Regional Park overlooks the Sweetwater Reservoir, taking up 500 acres worth of land that is comprised of campsites, streams, grasslands, equestrian, walking and hiking trails. Lemon Grove
The city of Lemon Grove is located just 4 miles west of Spring Valley and directly off the South Bay Freeway and Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway. Chollas Lake Recreation Area is a popular destination to take your leashed pooch walking, offering breathtaking views of the 16-acre lake the park is situated around. If you come to Lemon Grove, you’d better bring an appetite, because there are plenty of dog-friendly restaurants to choose from!
