Hi, I'm Becky! I am new to San Diego and one of my favorite things to do is to explore this awesome city with a dog by my side. I've had dogs and cats my whole life, and don't think I could have it any other way. My current best friend/roommate is George, a 5 year old pit bull/lab mix. I understand that all dogs need discipline and respect, with lots of love and exercise. I'll make sure to always keep all dogs super safe and happy.

Dog Walking in Bonita

The city of Bonita, California is located in southern San Diego County. This city is known for its historical impact on the region. The word "bonita" means beautiful in Spanish, and that's the perfect way to describe this city. It got its name from a rancher who grew lemons and lived in the area in the late 1800’s. His ranch was named Bonita. The local post office adopted the name too, and it stuck!

While you're here, you'll want to visit the pawesome Rohr Park, which welcomes furry friends as long as they remain on their leash. There are jogging trails to enjoy with your pooch as well as beautiful undeveloped scenery. The 3-mile long trail is paved, so you will want to be careful of your pup’s paws getting too hot.

You could enjoy a quiet, relaxing picnic at this park with your pal. There is also a pond where you can watch the ducks and other wildlife. Your pooch will love all of the different scents to sniff here. This park is very serene; it has lush green grass and an array of trees that are perfect for shade from the sun. This is a must-see when you come to this city!

Because it's such a small town, Bonita doesn't have many pup-friendly amenities, but that doesn't mean you can't feel at home here! Need a place to stay during your time in Bonita? While there aren't any pet-friendly hotels here, Bonita's AirBnB Rentals offer over 300 homes and apartments for you to choose from. Although many AirBnB rentals allow pets, you'll need to check the pet policy of the place you plan to stay. Pet policies will vary based on host preferences, so be sure to double check when booking your room.
