Sherwood
Sherwood is a peaceful residential neighborhood with one park that welcome dogs on-leash, Gene Pickerill Park. This two-acre community park has a quarter-mile walking path that’s flat and paved, making it easy for your dog to walk on. This path takes you past many of the park’s main attractions, including its sports fields and playgrounds. If you’re hungry after your walk, Gene Pickerill Park has a picnic pavilion where you can enjoy lunch or a snack with your dog. If you’re looking for a place where your pup can play off-leash, head to Bayview Dog Park and Beach. This park is located eight miles from Myrtle Grove, and it offers lots of fun attractions, including a fenced one-acre field where dogs can play off-leash and make new friends. Dogs can also go swimming in the Bayou Texar Inlet, which is right next to the dog park. If your pup gets messy while they’re playing, the park offers a clean-up station. There are also doggy bags and drinking water for pups. Your dog will love running, playing, and swimming here!

Cordova Square is a mostly commercial neighborhood with an off-leash area your pup is sure to love: Scott Complex Dog Park. Located eight miles from Myrtle Grove, this dog run includes separate sections for large and small dogs to play in. The park offers lots of tennis balls you can use to play games of catch with your dog. Running water is also available for thirsty pups. If you’re hungry after the dog park, head over to Cactus Cantina. This casual Mexican restaurant welcomes dogs on their large patio, and they’ll bring your dog a bowl of water. While your dog enjoys their water, you can dine on enchiladas, fajitas, fish and shrimp tacos, and more.

Big Lagoon State Park
If you’re looking for a furrific place to hike with your dog, head to Big Lagoon State Park. Located 11 miles from Myrtle Grove, this park welcomes dogs on leashes that are six feet or shorter. The only place dogs aren’t allowed is the beach. If you want to go on a long hike with your dog, hop onto the 5.5-mile Sand Pine Loop and Big Lagoon Observation Tower Trail. This beautiful boardwalk trail takes you over wetlands and past groves of pine flatwood trees. You’ll also get stunning views of Big Lagoon. Shoreline Drive
This Gulf Breeze neighborhood is home to another pawsitively great off-leash area, Shoreline Bark Park. This dog park is 13 miles from Myrtle Grove, and it has two separate sections: one for large dogs and one for small dogs. The park also offers fun agility equipment, including tunnels to run through and ramps to climb. If all this excitement makes your dog thirsty, water is available. If you want to get something to eat after the park, head to Wild Roots. This organic café welcomes dogs at their outdoor tables, and they serve healthy wraps, salads, and paninis. Bone Appetit!
