Local shops and boutiques, pup-friendly cafés and restaurants, and a variety of outdoor activities create a welcoming atmosphere for canines and their parents. The caring and professional staff at any of the four veterinary clinics in the area will provide both emergency and routine medical care for your pup. After taking your pooch to the vet, get him a treat at Give a Dog a Bone pet shop. The family-owned store offers fun collars and leashes in addition to special treats like doggie cake mix for your pup’s birthday.
Pup owners can plan a day of hiking at the Beach Park Trail situated near North Beach Park. Along the way be sure to admire the 500 species of trees and wonderful gardens while your pup can sniff the flowers and roll in the grass.
Another fun activity for you and your pup is hiking the Eastern Shore Walking and Bike Trail. This 23-mile trail extends from Spanish Fort all the way to Weeks Bay along the Mobile Bay coast. The sidewalks and paved trails make it easy to walk and enjoy the many historic sites along the way. As you travel the path, you and your pooch can admire the Fairhope Flower Clock, Single Tax Colony Cemetery, and Fairhope Pier.
Finding a great restaurant where you can enjoy a meal with your pooch is also easy in Fairhope. If you are looking for something unique, stop at Sage restaurant where you can try authentic Greek and Lebanese dishes while relaxing on the outdoor patio. The Volanta neighborhood is an excellent destination for you and your furry family members. While in the area, you can spend time at the Fairhope Dog Park which offers plenty of space to run and roam. With two separate areas for both large and small pups, you won’t need to worry about your shy pooch becoming overwhelmed when trying to play. Fido can play fetch or frisbee and socialize with other pups in the huge open area. There is even a kiddie pool with water if your pup wants to cool off, and the park provides doggie waste stations, so be sure to clean up after your pooch. After a day at the park, head over to Rae’s Southern Kitchen which offers a variety of menu items, including chicken salad, wraps, soups, and more. Plan to relax at the outdoor tables with your pooch and socialize with your neighbors.
Situated in the family and Fido-friendly Jasmine Park neighborhood, the quaint Jasmine Park is a wonderful place to walk your pup and spend time with the kids. After your morning exercise, head over to The Coffee Loft for a hot cup of coffee and relax at one of the outdoor tables with your furry friend.
Located along Mobile Bay, the Magnolia Beach neighborhood features the North and South Beach Parks along Fairhope Avenue.
