Paia is a small town with a lot of heart. The residents are friendly and welcome dog walkers making their way around the town. Honolulu Coffee is a dog-friendly cafe that is pawfect for your morning coffee fix. Once you have your energy going, you can head over to Rocks and Brews, which offers a great selection of food and drink and welcomes you and your dog to sit almost anywhere in the establishment. Its proximity to the beaches makes this restaurant an amazing place to stop for a great meal, good music, and plenty of pup-friendly fun before heading out on your next adventure.

About one hour from Paia is the Ko-olau Forest Reserve. This natural area is the best place on this side of the island if you are looking for trails, hiking, and waterfalls! Your dog will need a harness for sure as you make your way through the reserve. Make sure you check posted signs and stay on the marked paths as you go in search of those gorgeous falls. Your dog will probably hear the water before you, so make sure you stay alert for those moments of pupperific excitement as you go around each bend! Plenty of drinking water in your pack is going to make your journey a breeze.

About 90 minutes south of Paia is the Hanawi Natural Forest Reserve. You can check out this area if you want to go hiking, fishing, or nature watching with your canine companion. You will want to grab your dog's harness and leash up for this pawesome adventure. Lots of clean drinking water in your back pack will make for a stress free day with your dog. A collapsible bowl takes up less space and makes setting up a quick rest area a snap if you are hiking through the reserve with your dog. Make sure you have waste bags so that you can keep the trails clean.

West Paia is home to the beautiful Baldwin Beach Park, complete with walking paths and trails galore! Your dog is welcome to join you on these trails as long as he stays with you and on-leash the entire time.
