Dog Walking in Lāna‘I City
Lanai City is a small town in the center of the island of Lanai in Hawaii. This town has a little bit of everything for both pooches and people. Dog walkers find plenty of beautiful spaces to explore with their pups. From forests to residential streets to a short day trip to the beaches along the coast, there is something for every dog in Lanai. Lanai City requires dogs to be on-leash when out of their homes and yards in town. You will also want to keep your dog close to you so that you can monitor his stress response when meeting new dogs and humans.
Dog walkers in Lanai City often head to the beaches just twenty minutes away. Most of the rest of the island is wild and open land, which you can explore as long as you clean up after your dog and obey all posted signs. Some of the land is protected by the government, so you and your dog will need to be mindful of this as you look for places to explore. Hulopoe Beach is a twenty-minute drive south of Lanai City and is a great place for fur-babies who love the water and humans who want to try snorkeling.
