Imbs Station is a very small, unincorporated community in southern Illinois. Because it is both provincial and petite, Imbs doesn’t have many amenities for pups and their parents (other than about ten vet clinics within fifteen miles of town). Fortunately, however, Imbs is close to larger cities -- particularly Saint Louis --making it private but still accessible to dog-friendly amenities.
Just fifteen miles northwest, across the Mississippi River, you’ll find Lafayette Park. This gorgeous neighborhood oasis is known for its cleanliness, beautiful landscaping, and dog-friendly atmosphere. The nearby Frenchtown Dog Park is a bit more exclusive -- owners must provide shot records, a signed liability waiver, and $60 in annual membership fees -- but pups and owners can enjoy 1.5 acres of fully enclosed play area.
After a full day of play, drive on over to Wild Flower restaurant to enjoy truffled mac-n-cheese out on their pup-friendly terrace. You and Fido can also visit Boathouse Forest Park, a restaurant that features American cuisine with a twist; they have an attached boating facility that rents dog-friendly paddle boats!
Although Imbs is a small community, it’s very close to bustling Saint Louis and smaller cities like Swansea and Edwardsville. Be sure to check out what Imbs’ neighboring communities have to offer you and your furry best friend!
