Dog Areas in Paris, KY

Paris, Kentucky, is a the seat of the rural Bourbon County in the center of the state and has always stayed true to its root. The main attractions of Paris are the historical town center, the traditional bourbon distilleries, and the antique stores. And because the 8,000 or so people in Paris are dog lovers, there are also things to do for dog owners.

A great way to enjoy an active holiday in the country with the dogs is booking a stay in one of the vacation homes in Paris or one of the surrounding towns. These cottages and cabins are often pet-friendly and offer a lot of space for dogs to run around as there are no official off-leash dog parks in Paris.

Paris, Kentucky, is also only 18 miles away from Lexington, the horse capital of the state with many horse related activities and attractions. First up is the Kentucky Horse Park, a theme park that explores the relationship between horses and humans which also includes the American Saddlebred Museum. There are also many magnificent horse farms in this area.

If you are passing through Bourbon County with one or more dogs, you can also stay in one of the chain hotels in Lexington, which allow pets. Lexington also has a total of four off-leash dog parks to choose from.
