“I want to care for your best friend!”
I have had some type of animal ever since I can remember. I got my first, very own dog in 2005. I have had 2 labs, 2 pugs, and three cats. I absolutely adore both dogs and cats. I promise your pet will have an amazing time with me, my family, and my pets! My pug Jake absolutely loves meeting new friends. My cat Miko likes to be walked on a harness and leash to the dog park! I will be completely open and available to your pets while they are in my care. I am completely flexible with my schedule.

I've loved animals of all sorts since I was a child, and have worked with quite a variety of them both personally and professionally. I love dogs, and have familiarity with working with them both large and small (including a brief stint working with animal control).
I'm Sheena! I've rescued, raised, and cared for many dogs and other animals. I'm currently in college for Canine Behavior and Obedience Instructing. I worked at the Sheltie Rescue of Utah as a full time manager. I'm trained in proper medication administration, dog nutrition, and behavior cues/proper safety. I've taken care of many special needs and senior dogs. I've worked for shelters and adoption groups. I'll love your big, little, old, young, calm, or hyper fur baby like I love my own!

Covington, Louisiana is a small city with plenty of lush, green forests and only a short drive to the beach; a perfect location for every pet owner out there. While you may be content just to walk your dog through the sweet historic neighborhoods, there is a lovely dog park to try out in Covington.
Pelican Bark Park has both on- and off-leash areas for your pet to explore. They keep their property healthy by closing once a month to treat the grounds for fleas and other dangerous bugs that could harm pets that visit the park. There are gazebos, water fountains, and benches to keep pets and their humans safe in the hot southern summers. A great place to take Fido, whether she's big or small, to let off some steam!
There are a couple hotels to choose from if you are only visiting Covington. Staybridge Suites and the Residence Inn by Marriott are both lovely hotels that offer short and extended stays. They have ground floor level rooms for pet owners for easy access. When it’s time for dinner, try out the tasty Ristorante del Porto. They offer Italian cuisine and a spot for you and your pet outside on their terrace. Despite their small city size, Covington has plenty to offer for pet owners. You will be sure to find something fun to do in their lovely town with your best friend.
Grab your leashes dog-owners; it’s time to go for a great walk in Pretty Acres Dog Park in the Route 190/Harrison Avenue neighborhood. The location of the park is an advantage: it’s next to the main amenities in the city. If you’ve heard that this park is smaller than its brother in Mandeville, don’t be under the wrong impression that you can’t have just as much fun with your pup here. The area provides the same fun, off-leash experience for the pups, but it’s much quieter and relaxing than its Mandeville counterpart, making it just pawfect for owners! The park also has a special walking path – a nice and fun place for training your mischievous pup.
If you are passing by the South Jahncke Avenue/South Massachusetts neighborhood, you’re missing out a Fido-friendly shopping experience! Have you noticed that your bud’s favorite toy is looking a little worse for wear? Saylor’s Pet Depot is happy to welcome you and your furry family member to a barktastic shopping adventure. The store is conveniently located among other shopping and cafe areas in Covington, so you won’t want to miss it! You and your pooch will find everything here: quality food and supplies, a professional grooming salon, and even a full-service animal hospital. Tails up and leashes on -- it’s time to go shopping!
Are you and your pup feeling a little hangry? Time to sate that appetite with some classic Mexican cuisine! Sombrero’s, located on S. Taylor Street just minutes away from Covington’s city center, is happy to serve you and your best fur-iend some scrumptious Mexican fare. Come along during happy hour to enjoy a discounted margarita, cocktail, or craft beer. There are only four Fido-friendly tables here, so you may want to call to make a reservation. The restaurant is open 7 days a week, so you and your canine companion can dine anytime! Just don’t forget to bring a leash, as well as your pal’s water bowl. Oh, and try to resist his puppy dog eyes while you’re chowing down on that chimichanga.
If you don’t like the idea of keeping your pup under a stool or a chair in a local café or a restaurant, or you’re concerned about his behavior, worry no more! Try visiting the Sonic Drive-In conveniently located in the city center neighborhood among other amenities, shops, and stores around. Your pup won’t even need to get out of the car to enjoy a tasty treat with you! Grab a burger patty for Fido while you enjoy a classic Sonic hot dog, fries, and a shake. Your pal will be barking his praises! You can also dine with him at the outside tables; just remember to keep him on a leash at all times.
Want to treat your best fur-iend to a day out? Hammond Dog Park in the East Hoover Street/Apple Street neighborhood is the pawfect place! Getting from Covington to Hammond via I-12 West by car takes about half an hour, but it sure is worth it! The separate dog park became a part of Zemmurray Park in 2013, and has brought joy to pets and their owners ever since. Your pup will be safe and sound with a double-gate exit to the large and small dog areas. Bring some water, doggie waste bags, Fido’s leash, and his favorite toy for a pawesome day out!
