Hi, my name is Rachel! I love animals and the outdoors. I've worked with many different breeds and sizes of dogs in a veterinary and kennel setting, so I'm comfortable handling most any dog. I've also raised and trained Destro, a Jack Russell Terrier, so I know how important it is to you that your buddy is getting the quality of care he or she deserves. I want to treat your dog as though they're just as special as my own.

Hello, My name is Ellen Rice and I am very excited to be a dog walker! I have loved dogs all my life. In fact, I grew up with a Labrador retriever and a labradoodle. I am comfortable with all breeds and enjoy getting to know dogs with different personalities. I have experience dog sitting and dog walking, so neither of those are new territory for me. As a young college student I started pet sitting for my neighbors. I was pet sitting for 10 years already when a dear friend started a pet sitting service on the north shore; he asked me if I’d be interested in working for his sitting service, and I was thrilled. I began working as a professional pet sitter in 2002 and I can’t remember a more rewarding job. It's an honor to have been gifted with a career in pet sitting. I absolutely love caring for pets; they always have a special way of making each day more memorable.

“I’ve walked and caredfor over 500 dogs as a walker”

Ive spent most of my life caring for dogs. My first dog was a boxer that I had for 15 years. I used to also breed Neapolitan Mastiffs with my brother who is a dog trainer and competes in dog shows. They are huge dogs and a lot of responsibility which taught me patience and love for dogs. I’ve spent the last 2 years in New York walking and caring for over 500 different dogs. I’ve trained puppies and older dogs. I look forward to walking your dog and can assure you he is in good hands. Thank you!

“Big or small, I’ll walk ‘em all!”

Hi! I am a teacher, rugby player, and animal lover. I'm an active person, eager to get up and get out of the house every day. I sadly have no dog of my own. I didn't think it would be fair to a dog to bring it into my life just yet since a person's early 20's are full of uncertainty and unrest. That being said though, I love dogs more than any thing, and I can't wait to meet yours. Fun Fact: my Patronus is a corgi.

Hi! I'm Jake, avid dog lover and owner since childhood. Grew up in a house that had a Rottweiler mix, followed by labs that we loved so much that we bred them. The first pup was my first dog that I owned. I now own a 4 year old Husky mix that I rescued and take care of my parents' Rottweiler and their Chihuahua mix when they're away. Love all dogs.

Dog Walking in Chalmette

Chalmette is a community of about 20,000 in St. Bernard Parish that is booming with life and pooch-friendly places (including over a dozen vet clinics). Just ten miles east of New Orleans, Chalmette has all the perks of living in the big city but without all the Mardis Gras crowds.

Drive just six miles west of Chalmette toward New Orleans and you’ll wind up at Markey Park. This cute little park is a dog-friendly kids playground complete with a grassy area for walking and playing and lots of benches when you need a quick rest. Dogs must be leashed at this particular park, but use of the park is free--this means you can spend more on a famous, New Orleans-style lunch after your day together! Beignets, anyone?

If you’re in the mood for a walk down Bourbon Street, drive just twenty minutes west from Chalmette to take a stroll in the French Quarter. With countless pooch-friendly shops, restaurants, and live music to enjoy, the Crescent City’s oldest neighborhood has so much to offer pooches and pooch parents!

Surrounded by lakes and the countless activities available in The Big Easy, it’s im-paws-ible to be bored in Chalmette!

Waveland is a barkvelous place to bring your Fido for on-leash walks along miles and miles of dog-friendly beaches. The city is located about an hour from Chalmette, but the drive is well worth it. Hancock County Beaches are set right in between of Garfield Ladner Pier on the west side and the Catholic Church on the east side. Your pup will love splashing in shallow water, digging holes and finding treasures in the white sand. Locals say that there are not so many people between January and February, so if you don’t want to battle for a better spot on the beach, grab a leash and pack your Frisbee. There’s also a pet-friendly eatery right across the street called Dunk’s Southern Style Buffet & Catering. You should definitely come by and share some local cuisine with your pup after a long day of playing in the sand!

Bay Saint Louis is another city in Mississippi, located on the west side of the Bay of Saint Louis, with several amenities for your pooch to have fun and spend some quality time with his owner. The climate in the area is well-known for hot summers, so on a sunny day, your pup will love a visit to Larroux Park. The park will not impress you with its size, but it is fully fenced and secure for your fur-iend to run off-leash, exercise and play with his toys. There are a few pet-friendly cafés in the area that will be happy to welcome you and your canine friend. Whether you want some fresh coffee or tea in the shaded outdoor area in Mockingbird Café, or a seafood platter with a view from the outdoor seating areas in The Bling Tiger Bar, you’re sure to find something you’ll love.

Algiers Ferry offers a short ferry ride for the most courageous pooches and their owners to enjoy the spectacular views of the Mississippi River and the city skyline from the foot of Canal Street. Tail-waggers and their owners are welcome to ride at no extra charge!
