Southpoint
Let your furry BFF check out the local wildlife at the Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge. Located just 10 miles east in the New Orleans neighborhood of Southpoint, this refuge is sure to bring some pep to your pal’s step. Venture down the Bayou Sauvage Ridge Trail. This out and back trail is a total of 6.8 miles and provides pawsome views of Bling Lagoon. But you don’t have to go the whole distance to see the marshy scenery. If your dog isn’t the athletic type, just go as long as his paws can handle. The Ridge Boardwalk Trail is another option. Just be sure to keep your pup leashed and on the trail, as you never know what’s lurking in the water.

West End is home to Breakwater Park and West End Park. These gems are only eight miles west of Seabrook in the most northwestern park of New Orleans. Breakwater Park is a small peninsula that juts out into the Lake. Relax by the water with your four legged BFF at your side. Or walk around the marina and admire the docked sailboats.
