In this city, there is a area called The French Quarter, which is very dog-friendly. You and your pooch can take a walk through the streets and even visit the marketplace while you are there. This old, historic town has several shops that allow you and your pup to browse together. Most of the restaurants also have accommodations made so that you can eat with your pooch. Just keep your pup on a leash, and this will be a great place for you and your pup to enjoy a day filled with fun and history.

Southern New Orleans

If you are looking to get in some exercise, the Dog Levee in South New Orleans is a great place to start. The Dog Levee is part of the Mississippi Levy system. This is an off-leash dog park with a lot of grass for your pooch to roll around in. Be aware that this area is not fenced in, so you will have to keep an eye on your pooch. It is very scenic and gets you away from the city. You will need to bring your own water and waste bags. Grab your pup’s favorite toy, and enjoy a paw-tastic time.

Palm Drive

This dog-friendly neighborhood is located right outside of New Orleans and is only about 13 miles from Timberlane, Louisiana. It is home to NOLA City Bark, which is a great off-leash dog park for you and your pup to visit. This park does require a permit to enter, and the permit costs about $10. You can go online and fill out the paperwork, so you can have everything ready when you get to the park. The administration building is fairly close to the park, so the permit is easy to acquire. Your pooch will love exploring this park! There are separate areas depending on your dog’s size, and it is completely landscaped and fenced in. There is water available for your canine friend, as well as for owners. Your pooch will enjoy digging in the sand pit, running around in the grassy areas, and making a splash in the doggy pools. There are also shade pavilions and clean-up stations. You also have the option of walking the trail with your pooch. This is a great place for you and your pooch to have an awesome time!

Northern New Orleans

This dog-friendly neighborhood is close to Timberlane, Louisiana, and The City Park is a great place for you and your pup. This park allows you and your pooch to visit, as long as your pooch is on a leash. It is a larger park with walking paths and nice trails, some of which are paved while others are made of wood chips. There are benches to sit on and plenty of shade available for your pup to lie under and cool off. Be sure to bring water for you and your pup, along with waste bags for an easy clean-up. There are other sites within the park to check out too, such as an amusement park and beautiful nature gardens. Grab your pup’s leash, and come out for a relaxing day with your canine friend.

Metairie

This is a great place where you and your pooch will have a fun time exploring. It is located about 15 miles from Timberlane, Louisiana and is home to the the Bonnabel Boat Launch, which is a dog park. This off-leash dog park is completely fenced in, with a grassy area for dogs to play in. Your pup will especially like this park if he likes to meet other canine friends. Your pooch can sniff around and play with other canines. There is agility equipment to play on and water fountains for doggies and owners. There are benches to sit on, but there’s not a lot of shading. Another perk is that there’s a lot of lighting at night, and the park is open very late. Grab your pup’s favorite ball, and come out for a paw-tastic time.
