Your pup will go mutts over this pawesome off-leash park! The park is not fenced, but it's really safe if your pup is well-behaved. Be sure your pal responds to voice commands. You can bring a picnic blanket, sit on the grass, and make a day out of it! If you have to visit a fenced park, you'll find a small fenced area further along Leake Avenue. Make sure you bring water and poop bags.

City Park

For a premium dog park experience, visit the NOLA City Bark located in City Park, New Orleans. The 4.6-acre dog park is approximately 15 miles away from Westwego and is a safely enclosed off-leash park. The park includes many amenities that will make your visit there one of the best ones ever! There are separate areas for small and large dogs, a double-gated entrance, and water facilities. Moreover, there are shaded pavilions and poop bags for cleaning after your pooch. You'll also find a walking trail at this park which you can explore with your leashed pooch. You must have a permit to use this park, though..

Lake Pontchartrain

Around 11 miles away from Westwego is a pawesome dog park called Bonnabel Boat Launch Dog Park where you're sure to have a good time! This is a very cute little dog park where dogs can run around off-leash and have fun. The park is safely fenced so you don't need to worry about your pooch running away. Furthermore, there is agility equipment which will make your visit even more furrific! Water fountains and waste bags are conveniently supplied, so all you need to bring is plenty of energy! This park is open late, and is well-lit after sunset.

West Riverside

Wisher Dog Park can be found around 14 miles away from Westwego in West Riverside, New Orleans. This dog park is on the smaller side, and it doesn't have separate small dog and large dog areas. But the park offers a water fountain for the thirsty doggos and a hose to clean your pooch after all that playing. Moreover, the park also provides poop bags for cleaning up after your four-footed friend. There are benches in the park for the human visitors to watch over their dogs. Shade is scarce in this park, so avoid visiting during the hottest part of the day.

Westgate

Around 10 miles away from Westwego there is yet another park that you might want to check out called Lafreniere Bark. The park is located in Westgate, Metairie. This park is pretty large and rich with beautiful grass and lots of trees. Small and large dogs have large, separate areas to play as well as a water fountain. Children under 10 are not allowed in the park for safety reasons. The park also provides poop bags for keeping it clean. When it rains, there are a lot of puddles, so you might want to bring a towel with you when the weather is bad.
