Dog Areas in Luling

A place that's best known for an awful tragedy that happened in 1976 is now thriving once again! Before the well-known Destrehan-Luling Bridge, which connects Luling with the other side of the Mississippi River, was built, the river had to be crossed by automobile connecting ferries, until one of them crashed, causing a tragedy which the city will always remember. Misfortune aside, Luling is a charming place with a few dog-friendly things to do! This town has its own veterinary clinic which takes good care of all the pooches living in Luling as well as those just visiting.

There aren't any places in Luling where you can go out with your pup and grab a bite to eat, but don't fret. The capital of Cajun Country, New Orleans, is just 24 miles from Luling, so you and your pup won't have to travel far for a dog-friendly dinner date! If you're looking for lodging accommodations that allow pets in Luling, you can check out the Motel 6 Luling.

A great attraction that you can visit in Luling is Swamp Adventures, where you'll get the chance to see an alligator up close and personal! Other species of wildlife are there too, and you'll surely learn a lot about the gators! Dogs are, unfortunately, not allowed, but you can make it up to them by taking them to a dog park in Luling's surrounding areas!

You and Fido would be barking mad to miss NOLA's world-famous French Quarter while you're in Luling. The pawfect combination of appealing architecture and tasty food are just a few of the things this vibrant district has to offer pups and their parents. The best part is that your doggo is allowed to accompany you just about everywhere; many of the stores will even allow your pup inside! This bustling part of town right in the heart of NOLA is often crowded, so make sure your pup can handle being around lots of people, and keep him on a short leash here.

While you're in New Orleans, visit The Dog Levee in the Audobon neighborhood. This dog park is located next to the Mississippi River and it's a place where dogs can roam free and swim to their hearts' content. Although, keep in mind that the place is not fenced, so it might not be the best option if you have a runner. If you decide to go here, bring some towels to wipe off those muddy paws. This is the pawfect place to run and play with other pups! Also, if you love picnics, this spot is ideal; your dog can run free while you and your family admire the Mississippi River!
