review

Ms. Sonjia provided exceptional care during her 20-minute drop-ins for my dogs, Milo and Bandit, on April 18th and 19th, 2026. She was punctual, attentive, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. Both dogs were well cared for and comfortable in her presence, which gave me great peace of mind. Her professionalism and warm demeanor truly stand out. I highly recommend Ms. Sonjia she absolutely deserves a 5-star rating!

The Bayou

The Bayou

It is time to grab a leash and take your dog to the bayou for some authentic Louisiana cuisine. Restaurant des Familles takes the bayou and uses it as a frame for the most picturesque view possible. This is some good ol’ Southern cooking at its finest. You are invited to join your dog at one of the outdoor tables to take in the views while you enjoy the spice that comes along with all Cajun cooking. While you enjoy all the natural beauty in the area, be sure to take a look for the alligators in their natural habitat.

City Park

City Park

While you are in New Orleans, you will want to visit NOLA City Bark. It is the best place to be a dog that can be found anywhere in New Orleans. You’ll need to get a visitor pass to visit, but it is well worth the effort. There is a great walking trail, water fountains, and cleaning stations. Your creature comforts are there as well. Restrooms, shaded sitting areas, and dog drinking fountains are always in place. The double gate system will ensure your dog’s safety while he runs and romps in the off-leash area and sniffs out some new fur-iends.

The Mississippi Levee

The Mississippi Levee

Just under 30 minutes from Marrero, you will find The Dog Levee. We all need somewhere where we can run free and be ourselves. The Dog Levee is just that spot for Fido. It is a wide-open space that is part of the Mississippi Levee system. There are industrial parts attached to one side, which can cause hazards for smaller dogs. The area is not fenced in. Grab your dog, and a ball, and come down and play ball or fetch. Fido can sniff out some new friends here while you relax at the seating areas and watch. Bring a book and make a day of it!

The French Quarter

The French Quarter

If you get in the car and take a 25-minute drive down to the French Quarter, you will see a whole new world. The architecture here is unique, so grab a leash and guide your dog down some of the most historic streets in the US. Take in the cobblestone roads of the past and buildings that are older than most American cities. There is always live music playing from somewhere. It is an atmosphere that has made the city famous worldwide. You will see streetside markets selling anything and everything you could ever want. Don’t forget to share a beignet with your dog!
