Farmington City Center
Check out all the fur-iendly places to visit in Farmington’s City Center neighborhood! Leash your pup and peruse the quaint downtown area that is home to more than 160 businesses, including clothing shops, art galleries, specialty stores and more. During your walk downtown, be sure to stroll through Riley Park. This quiet community park has pleasant grassy areas and shady trees where you and Fido can hang out and watch the world go by. There’s plenty of dog-friendly eateries in the City Center neighborhood too! Pull up an outdoor bench for you and a water bowl for your pup at the Sunflour Bakehouse and enjoy fresh baked goods like breads, cookies, cakes, tarts and more. YUM! W 9 Mile Rd/ Shiawassee Rd
There’s tons of off-leash fun to be had in this Farmington Hills neighborhood! Just three miles from Farmington, you and your pup will have a ball at the William Grace Dog Park, a four-acre fully fenced-in canine haven! This park is a massive tract of lush green grass where your dog can run, romp and socialize. The openness and level footing at this park provides a furrific environment for a pawsome game of fetch! The park has a separate small dog area, too. To gain access to the park, membership is required through the City of Farmington Hills. Your pooch will be thanking you for dishing out the small annual fee to obtain the key fab into this land of Fido fun! 8 Mile Rd/ Farmington Rd
You and your pooch will have a tail-wagging good time in Livonia’s 8 Mile Rd/ Farmington Rd neighborhood, about seven miles from Farmington! The area is home to the Livonia Dog Park, located within the city’s Bicentennial Park. Livonia Dog Park is a huge, fully fenced-in grassy area where your pooch can get plenty of exercise and socialization! Fido can practice balancing on the doggie agility bridge, crawl through the tunnel or investigate all the smells at the fire hydrant. There are trees dispersed throughout the off-leash area, a seasonal doggie drinking fountain and waste cleanup stations. The Livonia Dog Park also has a separate designated area just for wee pooches, plus benches for humans. The City of Livonia requires membership and a small annual fee for access to the park. Merriman Rd/ 7 Mile Rd
Check out one of Livonia’s most pawpular parks in the Merriman Rd/ 7 Mile Rd neighborhood, just seven miles from Farmington. The area’s Rotary Park has something for everyone – a variety of picnic areas, open playfields, a playground and tennis courts. You and your leashed dog will go bonkers for the half-mile hiking path that meanders through a beautiful hardwood stand! These woods are an absolutely puptastic and scenic place to walk any time, but especially in the autumn as the trees put on a show-stopping display of colors. Bring your camera so you can snap a photo of Fido walking on a carpet of golden leaves!
