This small but picturesque park has flat, paved pathways that are easy for your dog to walk on. These pathways will take you past a historic home and a picturesque gazebo. Bring water and doggy bags, and have fun walking here. If you want to go for lunch after the park, check out L. George’s Coney Island Restaurant. This casual eatery welcomes dogs at their outdoor tables, and they serve American and Greek fare, including burgers, hot dogs, chili, and pita wraps.

Joslyn Road

Looking for a place where your pup can play off-leash? Head to Orion Oaks Dog Park, which is about 25 miles from Walled Lake. This 14-acre dog park has separate fenced areas for large and small dogs to play in. Both areas have large, shady fields where your pup can run and play. There are also hiking trails your dog can explore off-leash. Plus, if your dog likes playing in the water, Orion Oaks also has a designated doggy swimming area. If all this excitement makes your dog thirsty, water is available for them. Your dog’s tail will wag with happiness when they see all the great things to do in this park!

Yorkshire Street

If you want to spend the day hiking in the woods with your dog, check out Rotary Park. Located about 15 miles from Walled Lake, this park is home to a beautiful loop trail that welcomes dogs on-leash. This 1.9-mile trail will take you through the forest and along a peaceful river. Bring water and doggy bags for your pup, and have a fun time exploring this pawesome trail. If you want to cool down after your hike, head over to Tropical Smoothie Café. Sit at one of their dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy delicious and healthy smoothies, wraps, and salads.

Drayton Plains

Drayton Plains is home to another great place to go for an on-leash walk with your dog: Drayton Plains Nature Center. This 138-acre nature center is located 14 miles from Walled Lake, and it has scenic trails that wind through the forest. There are also lots of interpretive signs along these trails that offer information about the trees and plants you’re seeing. Bring some doggy bags and water with you, and have a good time at this nature center. If all that hiking makes you hungry, head over to Jersey Mike’s Subs, which has one dog-friendly outdoor table. This sub shop offers a variety of hot and cold hoagies, including their famous Philly cheesesteak.

North Main Street

If you’re looking for another furrific off-leash area for your pup, head to Wagner Park Dog Run. Located 25 miles from Walled Lake, this dog run features a large field where pups can run around and meet other dogs. The field is unfenced, so be sure to keep your dog under voice control while they’re playing. Bring water and a tennis ball or two, and have a pawesome time playing here. If you’re hungry after the dog park, check out Hippie’s Pizza. Sit at one of their dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy delicious customizable pizzas, wraps, wings, salads, and more.
