Lotus Dr/ Longworth Dr
Bordering Waterford, you will find the beautiful, Pontiac Lake Recreation Area. This will make a pawsome trip for you and your pup, with sniff-tastic hiking trails through the forest and grassland. Your furry friend will love all of the new sights and smells of nature! There is even a lovely sanded beach you can sit and relax after some exercise, with scenic views of the lake. While dogs are welcome at the Pontiac Lake Recreation Area, they must be kept on their leash. This will ensure a puptastic day for everybody. What are you waiting for? Cass Elizabeth Rd/ Parkway Dr
To retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, check out Dodge No. 4 State Park. This stunning natural park will require a Recreation Passport. This can be purchased with your license plate tabs or at any State Park upon entry, and is good at all state parks in Michigan. If your dog likes to ruff it, there are plenty of sniff-tastic trails through the woods to explore. You may be lucky enough to spot deer that live here! Although dogs are not allowed on of the beach areas, there is a section just for them. Your pup will need to remain leashed, even in the water. There are also enough puptastic natural trails here that will keep that tail wagging all day long.

Pontiac Lake Rd/ Watkins Lake Rd
If your pup loves to exercise and stretch his or her legs, you can visit Waterford Oaks Park. This place has over 185 acres, with plenty of green grass and trees for your furry friend to sniff. To enjoy a rest and some treats, there is a picnic area you can use. The Oakland County Farmers Market is also open three day a week. While dogs are not allowed into the water park, the Waterford Oaks Trail is four miles long and great fun for them to explore. To ensure everybody has puptastic fun, be sure to keep your dog on their leash at Waterford Oaks Park.

Highland Rd/ S Shore St
For a fun adventure with your pup, head to Drayton Plains Nature Center. There are over 138 acres to explore, with plenty of sniff-tastic hiking trails with spectacular scenery to enjoy along the way. There are around four miles of hikes you can explore through shaded woodlands, expansive meadows and around beautiful ponds, as well as along the Clinton River. While your furry friend is welcome here, there is plenty of wildlife around and dogs must remain on leash. Dogs can also come into the Interpretive Center, where you can learn about this natural habitat.
Timberridge Dr/Recreation Dr
If you travel only a few miles out of Waterford, you will reach Marshbank Park, located in West Bloomfield. This is a pawsome place to bring your dog for some exercise, with over 100 acres of expansive green grass to run and play fetch, as well as trails and boardwalks around the lake you can explore. There are plenty of facilities for the whole family to enjoy at Marshbank Park, including a volleyball court, restrooms and picnic shelters. Be sure not to miss the water fountain, which has a dog fountain attached specially for your panting pup!
