Hey my name is Carmine! I’m currently looking for a full time engineering job and I figured it would be great to do Wag in the meantime . My dog Millie is almost 8 years old and she’s the sweetest thing ever. She’s some a Jack Russel/Italian Greyhound Mix and while she’s one of the greatest things I’ve got going right now she doesn’t love to walk all that much. So I’d like to brighten up my days by meeting some new dogs and getting some light exercise.

Novi is a thriving small city 25 miles west from Detroit, and has been growing bigger and bigger each year. To humans and pups, the town will become a true Novi-lty to them thanks to its gorgeous rolling hills, open fields, and nine animal hospitals.
The gem of Novi for dogs is the Novi Dog Park, a vibrant area with lively vegetation, green fields, and scattered trees contained within a .75 acre fenced-off area. Dogs can run free while off-leash and enjoy features like separate areas for large and small dogs, shaded sitting areas, and double-gated entrances. Additionally, there are also water fountains and clean-up stations inside both areas. A membership is required for residents and nonresidents, for a small fee.
The gorgeous park of Lakeshore Park is right on the southern shore of Walled Lake, with over 50 acres of recreational spots, open space, forested trails, and a picnic area. There are three picnic shelters, a .4-mile walking trail, a soccer field, a beach, restrooms, and a volleyball pit. With scenic views of the water and surrounding vegetation, you and Fido will love playing or going for a walk inside the park, as long as they remain on a leash. Other amenities include a barbeque station, a playground, benches, water fountains, and a clean-up stations in the parking area.
From safe enclosed places to play into sprawling hills to walk on, Novi will provide you and your pup some of the best places to get outside and enjoy the day.
The neighborhood of South Walled Lake is located right along the southern shore of Walled Lake, filled with upscale residential homes. Right on the water is a park known as the Pavilion Shore Park, and is one of the best places to walk Fido. The park has nearly a mile of combined trails that criss-cross and connect to the scenic overlook that watches over the lake. In between the different areas of trails is open space and grassy terrain, with shaded sitting areas, a picnic area, water fountains, and trash bins. Additionally, there is a small fishing pier and boat launch available, but only to pups who are on a leash.
The Taft Novi neighborhood is a packed residential area on the southwest side of the city. The Ella Mae Power Park features an expansive 28 acres of land with open space, thick forests, and recreational fields. The park has 7 fenced-in baseball fields and two soccer fields, surrounded by open fields, forested trails, a playground, and a pond for fishing. Whether looking to play or walk, Fido must be on a leash. Fuerst Park is a smaller and quieter park in the area that hosts a small 8-acre area of open fields and winding paved paths. There's a shaded middle section with a playground, picnic tables, benches, water fountains, and trash bins.
Royal Crown is a western neighborhood with school districts, rows of homes, and large areas of thick trees. The Wildlife Woods Park is a place where some of those woods are and allows humans and pups to explore the area. With open space to run around and play in, Fido will love the park and enjoy the privacy and shade created by the encompassing woods. Additionally, there are paved walkways, a playground, two ballfields, and a pavilion. If you're looking for some privacy on your walk with Fido, head over to the ITC Trail. The trail is .7-miles long, made from bridges and asphalt, traveling through open fields and forests. Dogs have to be on a leash inside both places.
The neighborhood of Village Oaks is a packed residential area surrounding two ponds. The largest park of the area is the Village Wood Lake Park, a vibrant park with lots of vegetation along the shore of Village Oak Lake. The open field is great for running around with Fido or having a picnic, with access to benches and picnic tables along a paved path. There's a small dog-friendly beach as well, although dogs need to remain on a leash everywhere in the park. Brookfarm Park is a similar park, with a nice open field surrounded by oak trees. There is a .3-mile paved trail and a soccer field available to leashed pups, but remember to bring water and clean-up bags.
Orchard Hills is a small residential community with thick woods and rolling hills. The best place to explore the area's natural beauty is the Orchard Hills West Park, which is completely covered in trees. The park has dirt trails to help you and Fido explore the park, with access to a small fishing pond, benches, and trash bins. The green park is made even better thanks to the fact dogs do not need to be on a leash inside the park and can explore the paths and natural wildlife without restraint. You will need to remember to bring water and clean-up bags for your pup.
