Forked River Beach/ Forked River Point
Some of the best walks in Forked River can be found in the Forked River Beach/ Forked River Point neighborhood, as this is where two of the town's most scenic parks are located. Begin at the Forked River Beach Bay Front Parks, which offers stunning views of the bay, with telescopes to help you to better see your surroundings, along with a playground, a fitness station and picnic benches. Not too far away is the Vincent Clune Park. This park mostly consists of various sports fields and facilities, but does have a paved path that is pawfect for a stroll with Fido.

Lanoka Harbor
The Lanoka Harbor neighborhood of Lanoka Harbor sits right next to Forked River, and is home to a couple of parks that your pooch will love. The William Hebrew Park is the one most popular with children, thanks to its large, modern playground. The park also boasts a tennis court, a picnic pavilion, a fitness station and a half mile paved pathway. This neighborhood also provides access to Gille Park, where you will find a hockey rink, several sports fields, a play area, and dense wooded patches, with plenty of exciting smells to get Fido's tail wagging. Dogs are welcome in both parks, but you will need to bring a lead with you, as well as some doggie bags and drinking water.

Sands Point
The neighborhood of Sands Point in Waretown is adjacent to Forked River, and, with its waterfront setting, offers up some picturesque dog walks. Both of the parks in this neighborhood are located right on the water's edge, with Dock Avenue Park being the larger of the two. This is largely a passive park, but does have a gazebo and a few fishing spots. Just a short walk down the road is Oyster Creek Park, where you will find tennis courts, a basketball court, a boat ramp, a playground, and a patch of woodland that is pawfect for a dog walk, so long as you keep your pooch on a lead at all times.

Skippers Cove
Less than a mile from Forked River is the Waretown neighborhood of Skippers Cove, and there are a couple of green areas that are definitely worth a visit here. Start with the spacious Lighthouse Drive Park, which is a passive park that sits right by the marina, offering up colorful waterfront views and plenty of trees to sniff about in. Just a short walk away from here is Knots Landing Park, another passive park that sits by the water. This park boasts a couple of paved paths that will make it much easier for you and Fido to make your way around the dense covering of trees.

Bayville Town Center
The Town Center of Bayville is less than a mile from Forked River, and although this may be quite a busy part of Bayville, there is a large and tranquil park here that takes you away from the hustle and bustle of town. The William J. Dudley Park has quite a bit of history behind it, and is now a pawtastic example of the region's rugged natural beauty. There are several recreational activities offered here, from swimming to canoeing to kayaking, as well as a walking trail for you and your pooch to stroll on. If your pup prefers sand to grass, head on over to the park's small beach, where the two of you can frolic about right by the water's edge.
