The Hudson Shores Park, in the Green Island neighborhood of the city of Watervliet, is just west of Cohoes, and a great place to fish, with direct river access for those would-be anglers! Your fur-iendly pup is welcome by your side to enjoy the views. Or take the Riverwalk trail, ready for you and your fur-ever friend to enjoy a stroll along water’s edge. What about hopping on the Hudson River Bike Path which links to this park? It offers miles of paved trails throughout the town and the surrounding communities. A pawtastic place to take Fifi for a relaxing day’s outing.

Downtown Cohoes
The Downtown neighborhood, in the city of Cohoes, is the place to take your fur-ever friend if you are looking for relaxation in the great outdoors. Lansing Park has tons of green space, which is perfect to take a short stroll or even read a book, with pup at your side. It also offers hiking and biking trails throughout, with a dedicated trailhead on site. Or try the George Street Park, with open green spaces, just waiting for a blanket and a picnic! This park has baseball fields and a playground as well. Keep your pup on a leash at both parks.

In the Glen Meadows neighborhood of Cohoes, you and your pup can visit Berkley Park. This park has plenty to offer sports fanatics with various courts and sports fields. This is a great place if you are looking for somewhere to stretch your legs with your fur-ever friend on a long leash. There is a picnic area, and numerous open spaces to wander. And for the kiddies, you will find a nice playground. When you get hungry, grab a slice at Dom’s Pizza and Subs where your pup is always welcome at their outdoor tables.

The Dutch Meadows neighborhood, in the city of Cohoes, offers the Mohawk River Dog Park, which lies in the Mohawk River Park. This is a pawtastic place for your pup to kick up his heels with the other dogs in the area without a leash to hold him back! Afterwards, head to The Crossing Park. Both parks have miles of walking, biking, and skating trails. Keep your pup on leash at either of these park’s multi-use trails. Waterford Village
The Waterford Village neighborhood, in the town of Waterford, is where you will find the Pebbles Island State Park. This sprawling park along the Hudson River is the perfect place to take your fur-ever friend for great hiking on their wooded trails. These trails are perfect for any pup-ability and remain cool in the shade of the trees. In the winter, you can use these trails for cross-country skiing to get Fido out into the fresh air. Don’t forget to bring your fishing pole to catch a big one! Remember to pack plenty of water and keep Fido on leash.
