Hi! I’m Genevieve. I grew up in upstate New York with dogs and have a genuine love for animals! I’ve been in the city for four years now and I’ve been dog walking and sitting on my own. I work with wag now so I can help and get to know more dogs! I’m a recent college grad and I can’t wait to get to know your dog!

The Finch Hollow Nature Center is the star of Johnson City. This large, natural park welcomes well-behaved dogs and their owners. Dogs have to be on leash in this park, for the safety of local wildlife and your dog! Spend some time hiking the Finch Hollow Nature Center Trail. This loop trail is slightly less than a mile long and features a fantastic lakeside view. Bring your own supplies, because this area is untouched by human snack shacks.
Sleeping isn't RUFF in Johnson City! Just ask Red Roof Inn Binghampton Johnson City and La Quinta Inn Binghampton Johnson City--where your pet can join you in your hotel room with no pet fees in sight! If you don't mind a small pet fee, your options open up to include Best Western Plus of Johnson City. No matter where you rest, you'll rest easy knowing Johnson City's best attractions are waiting tomorrow.
The William Hill Park in the Westover neighborhood of Johnson City sets the bar for parks in the area. This park has a great size, making it walkable, but spacious. If you're looking to work off energy from a high strung dog, you can do that in a couple laps of the park. If you'd rather amble or enjoy time on the spacious lawn, you won't have to walk too long to get to it! The park also has a great river view, and access to the water at several points for fishing or wading. Just remember that your dog has to be on leash, even while cooling off!
Southside Park, also known as Floral Ave Park, is a great place to take the whole family. Your dog is going to love all the people watching he can do here, because this park is often packed. The weekends and after school lets out are particularly busy times, and it's easy to see why. This park has a playground and extensive fields and props for sports from basketball and soccer to handball. If you're looking to exercise your dog and forget the rest, there's room to do that here too. Follow the paths through the park or lap the whole thing--either way, there's green space to spare.
Northside Park offers community engagement and plenty of fun. The park has many amenities, from a pool and carosel to sports fields and dedicated play equipment. All of this is pretty unimpressive to dogs, however. If you're looking to build a time your pup won't forget, leash up and head to the wooded section. Northside Park's small, but robust woods can help you feel like you're far away from the bustle of the rest of the park. This can be great for soothing shy dogs who don't love the crowds, or just a welcome change of pace in a busy walk.
It's worth it to bring your dog into Downtown Johnson City with you because you can stop off at Little Park. This park more than lives up to its name! It has just two benches and a street corner in which to make an impression. The path runs straight through the park, surrounding the centerpiece bolder that decorates the middle. The entire park is a corner of a city block, and it's an amazing change from the neighborhood around it. Take your dog here for a quick morning or evening walk under trees, or bring your lunch to snack on while you watch the people go by.
CFJ Park in the East Johnson City neighborhood is a modern park with modern amenities. The old carousel has been recently renovated and is in working order. A splash pad makes an appearance during the summer months to cool everyone down. This park is great for getting a large group together because there's something for everyone. From the playground, to the sports fields and picnic benches, you can always find something to do. Social dogs will get mental stimulation watching everyone coming and going, and walking the paths will get their blood moving! CFJ Park has plenty of fountains, but bring a bowl for sharing!
