Rhinebeck Village

Rhinebeck Village is at the heart of Rhinebeck, bringing together the best of the city’s arts and entertainment as well as unique specialty shops. While most won’t allow your precious pup to join you inside the store, you can peruse the storefronts as long as Fido is safely leashed. This sophisticated neighborhood features Dutch influences and a quaint aesthetic. You and your furry friend can also enjoy pet-friendly eateries, such as the patio at Terrapin, a restaurant in a converted church! For regionally sourced goods and accessories, you can bring Fido over to the locally-owned shop, Dexter’s Dog Boutique.

Rhinecliff

On the edge of the Hudson River lies the neighborhood of Rhinecliff, about a mile west of the Rhinebeck Village. This lakeside hamlet offers breathtaking views of the water. If you are traveling through the area, you can get some quality bites at the Rhinecliff Restaurant, serving you and Fido on the patio when the weather permits. This area is also pawfect for pet parents who wish to enjoy the stillness of nature. Camp out at the Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park, where wagging tails are always welcome. Just be sure to keep your precious pups on a leash no longer than 10 feet.

Forest Park

Located on the northeast side of town is the neighborhood of Forest Park. Its cozy atmosphere makes it a lovely town to reside in; your pups will love walking down the street with the neighbors and rolling around in the yard. Forest Park also belongs to the Red Hook school district, which makes the city perfect for commuters from nearby cities as well. For more thrilling adventures, you will have to commute a short drive to the attractions in Rhinebeck, such as the trails throughout Ferncliff Forest. Just be sure to keep Fido on a leash whenever you are in an open area unless otherwise stated.

Kingston Point

Local pet parents can head over to the nearby bark park, Kingston Point Dog Park. This well-kept off-leash area offers Fido a place to stretch his furry legs and socialize with the neighborhood pooches. Residents of Rhinebeck neighborhoods like Forest Park and Rhinecliff also frequent the park, as it's just a short drive across the nearby Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. Kingston is a vast city just across the Hudson River from Rhinebeck and has plenty of offer both visitors and residents, four-legged and otherwise! Take the scenic route to enjoy spectacular views of Hudson Valley that are sure to keep ears perked and tails wagging.

Red Hook Estate

Red Hook is roughly five miles outside of Rhinebeck, so it shares quite a bit with the neighboring city. Residents of either area can take advantage of the fur-friendly activities nearby. If you want to learn more about Rhinebeck, explore the history of early airplanes and more at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome museum! Fido can join you while you learn about airplane memorabilia dating back to 1900. Just keep in mind that there may be loud noises that could make skittish pets uncomfortable. Hungry?
