Bay Terrace
Bay Terrace in Queens is just about two miles from Whitestone and is where you’ll find Fort Totten Park, a beautiful place that sits right on Little Neck Bay. Tourists and locals love this park for its pretty views, fun events, and perfect location for kayaking and swimming. Your leashed dog can join you in many areas of the park, but there’s also a dog run inside! This fully-fenced spot overlooks the water and has a good amount of space for your furry friend to exercise and make some new friends. With some shady areas and a doggie water fountain, your pup has everything he needs here for a fun time.

Greenpoint
Greenpoint in Brooklyn is about 11.9 miles from Whitestone and just across the East River from New York City. You’ll find dog-friendly hotels here if you’re just visiting, as well as some restaurants that welcome furry paws. Check out The Gibson, a fun bar with an inviting, casual atmosphere which allows your dog inside or on the outdoor patio! There are also two beautiful dog parks in the neighborhood: McCarren Park and McGolrick Dog Park, both of which are fenced and allow dogs to run off their leashes. Need a haircut? Astoria is a neighborhood in Queens that’s slightly over nine miles from Whitestone. Astoria is a pawfect place to find some dog-friendly dining in the area. Grand Café and Lounge is a pupular dining spot that offers chicken, seafood, wraps, and delicious coffee drinks. Or, try nearby Flo Urban Kitchen if you want to taste some different cultures. Long Island City, a neighborhood in Queens, is mostly surrounded by water and has some incredible views of New York City. It’s about 12.7 miles from Whitestone. You can check out the Murray Playground Dog Park, a small but fun spot for Sparky to get off his leash and have some fun outside. Middletown-Pelham Bay
A little under eight miles from Whitestone is the Middletown-Pelham Bay neighborhood of Bronx, NY. You won’t want to pass over this neighborhood if your dog is an adventurous outdoor lover! Pelham Bay Park is an incredible spot with tons of open space and hiking trails that welcome leashed dogs and their owners. The park has some furtastic views of the shoreline and beach areas for your dog to splash in the water! You can also take your pooch to the dog run within the park, which gives Percy plenty of space to run and offers benches and some shady areas for owners.
