Riverbend Recreation Area
A little over 13 miles from Fostoria is the Riverbend Recreation Area of Findlay. This park packs in over 100 acres of beautiful scenery and houses all kinds of wildlife and plant life, making it quite a sight for outdoor-loving dogs and their owners. The park also has picnic shelters, open spaces, sporting fields, and some trails, all of which your leashed dog is welcome on. You can also bring him to the K-9 Field of Dreams Dog Park inside the recreation area, which offers off-leash fun for your dog to run, play, and maybe even meet a few new friends.

Downtown Perrysburg
Downtown Perrysburg is just over 31 miles from Fostoria. This spot is one you’ll want to stop in if you’re traveling out of Fostoria and need a yummy meal with your pup. There are a few dog-friendly restaurants here that’ll please your palate, like Jed’s Barbecue and Brew, which offers classic American cuisine like burgers, soups, and salads. The Fairfield area of Maumee, OH, is about 33.4 miles from Fostoria. This area is the home to one of the entrances of the Wabash Cannonball Trail, a pet-friendly hike that has miles of space to explore. The trail runs from Maumee to Liberty Center and winds through wooded areas, over bridges, along railroad tracks, and even by some shopping and residential areas. You and your dog can also spend some time at the Side Cut Metropark, which is part of Toledo’s network of Metroparks. The Southwyck neighborhood of Toledo is around 42 miles from Fostoria. This is a pawfect spot for an adventurous, outdoor-loving dog to spend some time in. First, check out the Toledo Pet Farm Dog Park, which has a fully-fenced area complete with some toys and agility equipment to make running and playing even more fun for your pooch. Next, head to Swan Creek Metropark, a pet-friendly park that offers some incredible nature sights and great locations to see some wild animals up close. The park also has trails on which your leashed dog is allowed to hike with his favorite human.

Just under 50 miles from Fostoria is Ottowa Hills, another neighborhood in Toledo. Ottowa Park is here and it’s a great place to take your pup to watch some local tennis games, socialize with youngsters on the playground, or walk the trails throughout the park. Your dog is also welcome on his leash at the Wildwood Preserve Metropark, one of the most pupular of Toledo’s Metroparks. This incredible nature preserve is home to several types of wildlife that you can spot during your visit and also has a variety of trails through meadows and woods to hike with your pooch.
