Hello! My name is Sara, and I currently live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have been around animals my whole life and it would simply not be the same without them! I currently own a golden retriever. I have also previously owned a husky which I rescued from an animal shelter and a beagle who was my childhood pet. I have watched family member’s dogs overnight and even for weeks at a time. I have a lot of patience with dogs and look forward to meeting everyone’s furry companions!

Located just 45 minutes east of Cincinnati, Mount Orab is a small town with a variety of pooch-friendly activities. Although the town has enjoyed growth in the last few years, most residents still love the small-town atmosphere and friendly neighbors who spend time enjoying the outdoors with their kids and pups. Keeping Fido happy and healthy is important to pup-parents, and you won’t need to travel far for excellent veterinarian care. There is one vet clinic right in Mount Orab where your pooch can go for routine appointments or emergency care.
If Fido loves chasing around a ball or just rolling in the grass, take him over to the Ogden Softball Park when the games are not in session. You can walk around the park or let your pooch play a game of fetch in the open fields.
Another option for some outdoor activity is the Mount Orab Park on College Avenue. You can stroll along the well-maintained path and get some exercise or sit on a bench in the shade and enjoy the fresh air while chatting with other pup-parents.
It’s also more fun to go out for dinner when you can bring along your furry family members. If you are looking for some hometown American cuisine, head over to the Country Inn where you will enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of the outdoor tables.
Fido will have a furtastic time exploring the Orshein Farm & Home Store where he can pick out his own toy and you can buy nutritious dog food.
If you are looking for all the benefits of a close-knit community with plenty of amenities, Mount Orab is the perfect destination.
Fido and the family will love a day at the lake and the Grant Lake Wildlife Area offers open spaces and access to the water. When you need a place to spend some time away from town, the peaceful atmosphere at the lake is wonderful. You and your pup can walk around the lake and admire the plants or take your fishing pole and relax on the banks of the water. The area is usually not too busy, so you and Fido can relax and enjoy the sunshine, or get some exercise hiking along the trails throughout the park.
Only ten miles west of Mount Orab, the East Fork Wilderness area in the small town of Williamsburg is great for both you and your pooch. There are extensive trails that are also shared with horses, so when hiking through the area, be sure to keep Fido on his leash. The over 100 miles of trails offer a variety of terrain so you can take a short hike with the kids and your older dog or a longer hike with your energetic pup. You will love the amazing views and your pooch can sniff and smell all the plants and trees. There are even picnic areas located along the paths where you can stop for a break and enjoy a cool bottle of water.
Burke Park is about twelve miles southwest of Mount Orab in the town of Bethel and features a peaceful destination to spend time with your pup. There is a picnic area where you can enjoy a snack and a walking path that goes around the perimeter of the park. The area is well maintained, so be sure to bring your own doggie waste bags and clean up after your pooch. The large mature trees are perfect for relaxing in the shade and you will often find other pups and their parents out for a stroll. If the kids are with you, they can enjoy the playground while you get some exercise walking laps with Fido.
The Bachelier Park is about eighteen miles west of Mount Orab in the town of Amelia. If you and Fido are looking for something to do, head over to the next town and enjoy the day walking around the park or playing in the open fields. Your pooch can run around and roll in the grass and there is a convenient water fountain where you can fill up a water bowl. The picnic areas are situated under large shade trees making it a perfect place to relax after getting some exercise. If there are ball games in session, you can even wander over to the concession stand and grab snacks for you and the kids.
When your pup needs some time to run around off-leash, head over to the Spencer Shank Memorial Dog Park in Amelia! The large park features a fenced area where the pups can play and a drinking fountain just for the dogs. You can relax on a bench with other pup parents while Fido runs around and socializes with his furry friends. In the main park, you will find playground equipment for the kids, and you can relax at the shaded picnic tables while the kids play. There’s also a walking track where you can get some exercise, and the teenagers will love the frisbee golf course. Just be sure to bring your own doggie waste bags and clean up after your pup.
