If you want to revisit history and do it with your canine pal by your side, Savannah is the place to be. It’s located 25 miles from Bluffton, SC and is home to the Oliver Bentley’s Historic Dog Walk Tour. This tour is a great way for you learn about the history of the city while Fido stretches his legs. There’s a knowledgeable guide to tell you about the fascinating historical sites. Your pup will enjoy sniffing around Savannah while you’re learning about the city's history. Your pooch needs to be on a leash the whole time, though. At the end of the tour, you will receive a bag of Oliver Bentley’s doggy biscuits! Keep in mind it is a paved walkway, so bring water for you and Fido.

This dog-friendly neighborhood of Savannah is home to the Herty Pines Dog Park. This dog park is an off-leash park and allows your pup to explore all kinds of terrain. The park is packed with a lot of trees for shade and also has lush green grass for your pooch to roll around in. It is completely fenced in and has water stations available for thirsty pups. This park offers clean up stations as well as free parking. It is separated into two areas for larger dogs and smaller dogs. If you want to enjoy a day of exercise, make sure to visit this amazing park.

East Savannah
This neighborhood is home to the Mother Matilda Beasley Dog Park. This off-leash dog park is located at the north end of the larger park. The dog park is fenced in, and the area is mostly dirt and sand. There are a lot of trees that provide shade, as well as nice seating. The park provides water hoses, small pools and toys for your pooch to enjoy. Grab a ball and some doggy bags for clean-up, then head out to this park for a paw-tastic time. Keep in mind that your pup will need to be on a leash if you want to explore any areas outside the dog park.

Hilton Head
This dog-friendly city has a great beach where you can take your pooch to swim and play. Burkes Beach is only 8 miles from Bluffton. Parking is free, and there are specific times when you can take your pup to play on the beach. You'll need to check the website before you go, since the dog-friendly times change frequently. It is completely fenced in and has a huge canopy of trees to shade you and your pooch after they are done running around. There are a lot of benches for the dog owners and 2 water fountains for the pups. The best perk is that the dog park is free to use, and the park also provides doggy bags for clean-up. There are 2 separate areas for different sized dogs so you won’t need to worry about any large dogs picking on your smaller one. You will be glad you brought your canine companion here for a day full of fun.
