If you’re looking for a place where your pup can play off-leash, take them to Herty Pines Dog Park. Located 15 miles from Pooler, this dog park has two separate areas: one that’s open to dogs for all sizes and one that’s exclusively for small dogs. There are plenty of trees that keep the park shady and cool on hot summer days, and there are doggy water fountains available. Your pup will always have a great time playing here! Located 14 miles from Pooler, this 335-acre park has a three-mile-long nature trail you can explore with your dog. This trail goes along a scenic canal, and it also winds through a lovely forest. This off-leash park is 12 miles from Pooler, and it has one fenced-in area where dogs can play and make new friends. In summer, there are plastic kiddy pools for your dog to splash around in, and drinking water is available all year round. After the park, continue your fun day out with breakfast or lunch at J. Christopher’s. This restaurant has a doggy menu that includes two delicious egg dishes that your pup is sure to love! For humans, they offer a wide variety of omelets, sandwiches, eggs benedict, and more.

Fort McAllister State Park

Fort McAllister State Park

If you want to spend the day at the park with your dog, head to Fort McAllister State Park. This stunning 1,725-acre park is 27 miles from Pooler, and it welcomes dogs on-leash. The park has two pawesome trails you can explore with your dog: Magnolia Trail and Redbird Creek Trail. Magnolia Trail is 0.9 miles long, and it goes along a peaceful river. If you’d like to go for a longer walk, head onto Redbird Creek Trail. This trail is three miles long, and it goes through wetlands and around the Ogeechee River. Bring water and doggy bags with you, and have a good time exploring this picturesque state park.
